4th Edition and the Immortals Handbook

Ehhh, Wyrd seems too obscure to me. The warlock as written doesn't do anything similar to the witch archetype, and I can't see WotC not using that name simply due to a little-known (and tenuous) connection between the words. If they would, then sorcerer would be likewise conflated, and we know that's not the case. Either way, there's no clear point with which to put animal summoning in, beyond 'not barbarian'. I can't wait. I just wish psionics was in the book too.

Witch seems far too gender specific for me.

It'll probably be Shaman. We know it will deal with 'spirits' and that could mean summoned animals would be animal spirits or somesuch.

You can't have everything in the first book. Thats usually something I try (and fail) at. :o

Hiya Krusty!

Warlock is gender-specific too. So is sorcerer. I really don't see them concerning themselves with that.

Shaman would be my best guess, too, but it's far from clear I think.

Yes, I know you can't have everything. It's just that the confluence of Eberron being the released setting that year and some comments by the design team gave me the impression that psionics would be in the book. C'est la vie.

True, but my point is we already have a Warlock class (and will have a Sorcerer class) so theres no point in having a Witch and Sorceress classes as well.

We'll see next year I suppose.

I think that the Primal stuff definately supercedes Psionics, I mean Barbarian And Druid were core Classes last time around.

Actually, the point is having a class that covers the witch archetype, which the warlock and (what we know of) the sorcerer don't cover. Witch, as the most well known name that this archetype falls under (in addition to fitting the given matrix), is the most logical name for the class.

Yes, I agree that Primal supercedes Psionics. It's just that certain comments by the designers lead me to think psionics would be there. We'll see.

U_K, do you have any take on the project to create an OGC Wiki?

Once you publish the IH 4E, that's the end of the 3.5 incarnations being sold. Between that, and Mongoose wanting to put up their OGC anyway, would you be willing to go to that thread and officially allowing your works to be added to such a wiki?

Hey Alzrius mate! :)

Interesting. I'll give it some thought. So much of my work is already OGC already though, and most of what is not, are the bits I really want to keep for myself - specific character names and so forth.

U_K, it's not that the project wants you to open up more of your work as OGC; the stated aim of the wiki is to only add OGC with the creator's explicit permission. As it stands now, your existing OGC materials could legally be added, but the guy running the wiki has made it pretty clear he wouldn't allow that unless you said it was okay, which is what I'm asking.

Hey all! :)

finally got here. :D

...in that case...

I agree to allow portions of my work already stated as OGC to be used in this wiki. :)

Woot! Thanks U_K! Once you come out with the 4E IH books, there'll be little other recourse for people interested in the OGL versions that hadn't bought them already.
