Message
Merrick was about to take an egg until Shamal swept in and took all the eggs and sang over them. Merrick taps his toes and hums along in appreciation and, while people are distracted, If Merrick gets another chance, he sends a Message to Torhak to get an update regarding his whereabouts and the information he's gathered so far. When the song was done, followed Shamal's lead and ate his as well.

In Draconic, Merrick echoes the Chief and says,

"And may you be mighty! So, Chief, tell us of these folk who betrayed you."

I'll send a message if it makes sense and have an opportunity. That gives Torhak an opportunity to send a 25 word message to us. I'll make sure Torhak knows about the statue.

Team Lake - Aywin
Aywin signals Shade-9 to release its grip on Guldred. "Don't worry friend, we won't hurt you. Tell me, what are you doing here?"
"Darius, is there any indication that the structure or crystal may be a teleportation node?"
"I also suspect it is a teleportation device. I threw a rock inside, and saw some runes appear. Perhaps we can send Svetlana in to see."

Lorent turns toward the table
"Passsion is good, you'll need it. But obedience comes first. Go unload the wagon. I'll try my hand the The Dragon. Maybe if I win I will not tell Lord Silakul to put you to kobold duty."

He sits at the table "Hi, I'm Lozant Red-Fang. I was sent here and was to meet one of yours. I found the caravan, but not the fang I expected. Can we play, I can tell you about it while these schmucks unload. But then I'll have to go up and report in. Who's dealing?"

OOC: What portculis?

Rolls: with advantage to maintain the disguise 22.insight 17 to see who best to frame for cheating, deception 18 to actually cheat (advantage if someone helps, feel free to roll)

Persuasion is at +5 if some diplomacy is needed.

Also, I just came from the night out, so coyotecode since it is easier than rolz on the phone. I can reroll in the morning if you want

Guided deception: 2D20.HIGH(1)+5+1D4 = [14, 14]+5+[3] = 22
Insight to see who is least liked: 1D20 = [17] = 17
Deception to cheat at cards: 1D20+5+1D4 = [10]+5+[3] = 18

"Right," says Terrin in response to the ox handler, a little put out at being overheard discussing the game with Copper.

He stays quiet as he continues to unpack the wagon and begins stacking items in the southwest corner of the storeroom while he listens to the conversation at the table, ready to intervene should things go sideways.

Team Lake

With his magic-detecting lenses in place, Shade-9 could see the conjuration magic that came from inside the strange structure. His sensors constantly detected residual traces of conjuration, evocation, and necromancy, as if the entire mountain was suffused with the stuff.

With their attention turned to the structure, Guldred stood nearby, observing them without comment, but with eyes that were keener than his awkward ability with the common tongue suggested, and he quickly gathered that the group were not affiliated with the humanoids who were occupying the nearby temple. He told Aywin, "Guldred isss outasst. Sspoke againsst men who offer Muragh power. Muragh kill lizard-chief; ssend Guldred away. Guldred alone in lake. Hate men; hate Muragh. You help Guldred; Guldren help you."

Darius was taking a look at the structure, discussing what they saw, but he was also probing Guldred's surface thoughts with his mind. As he suspected, the lizardfolk was far cleverer than he seemed, but he was not duplicitous. His thought were of loyalty to his dead chief, and his hatred for his clan's usurper. He had no love for the dragon cult, who he thought of as dangerous, hateful neighbours.

None of his observations of the lizardfolk distracted him from observing the patterns of runes on the inside of the structure. Darius was sure that it was a teleporter, and furthermore he understood he pattern that had shown when Aywin had thrown a rock belonged to a specific location, and that the pattern could be changed. He guessed that the runes could be made into four or five patterns, likely nearby. But he had no way of knowing where any of them were. The rock had not transported, only because it needed to be carried by a living creature (or possibly unliving, but not an inanimate object).

Team Lake

Looking at his companions, Aywin proposes "We can send Svetlana through the structure if we manage to make it work. She doesn't like it, but when she falls, I can summon her again. She can also remain invisible, so she could scout and return to us if she manages to activate the device from the other side." Looking at Darius he adds: "do you think you could show her how to activate the device?"

TEAM LAKE - SUBJECT:SHADE-9 - Team Mascot?

Shade-9 scanned the structure and crystal, now overlayed with the arcane glow of magic that seeped out into the cavern and soaked into the mountain stone. Conjuration, Evocation, Necromancy: were they merely the lingering spoor of a dragon's lair or sign of other spellwork by the temple and cultist above?
[#Log for further investigation]

As Aywin and Darius studied the runes and made plans to investigate further, Shade-9 turned back toward Guldred. The lizardfolk was tense but willing, motivated by a volatile mixture of grief and vengeance.

Shade-9’s grip on the reptilian’s arm remained firm a moment longer before releasing, a display of tactical goodwill towards a potential ally.

"Muragh killed your chief? Joined with the men in the temple?" Shade-9 clarified his voice modulated low and edged with scrutiny.
[#THREAT ASSESSMENT: Muragh — Designate Subject: Potential Hostile. Insufficient profile data. Observe and collect parameters.]

He took a step back, allowing Guldred space, but his body language remained alert and ready. A faint red pulse passed across Shade-9’s lenses as data channels opened and hunt protocols focussed marking topography and tagging enemies and allies alike.

"Guldred, identify Muragh. Is he Lizardfolk? How many does he command? Threat level, combat capability. If you help us, we may help you."

Bjorn-frog tries to keep one eye on the lake and tunnels, but is a bit distracted by the talk of teleportation devices and cultists. He croaks softly as Bill sits by his side, waiting patiently as the humanoids talk.

OOC: Bjorn thinks it's best to stay in frog-form for now. He tries to keep an eye on the lake and those fish, but is not too focused on it.

Copper AC:15 HP:31/31 HD:4/4 PP:14 CloudJ:2/2
Copper grumply gets back to unloading but not before giving the table and the players a once-over masked as a longing look. "I will have my place at the table, you know. Maybe not today, but soon!"

OOC: Copper is mostly looking for the keys to the cell, but also easy marks to set up for taking the fall.
