OOC: Welcome back!

Lorent lets the long held breath out.
"I'll let the other know."

He takes out the communication stones and sends out "Temporarily safe in caves under prison. Recovered one statue. Two groups merged. Taking a rest. Where can we find you? Do you need assistance?"

TEAM FUSION - SUBJECT:SHADE-9 - TEAM REACTIVATION PROTOCOLS!!!

With a look back at the hydra pool from which Bjorn was now emerging, Shade-9 did a final overview scan to ensure that the subsurface ripples had subsided and creature below had truly not been disturbed.

Rivulets of water traced the seams of his integrated chassis before pattering down on to the stone below. Bjorn-frog settled on a ledge above the water and the construct found his own secure footing, before refocussing on the group before him

Shade-9 rotated his wrists, expelling excess water and silt from his joints. running physical diagnostics as he tightened his grip around the recovered object and raised it for inspection.

[Internal Diagnostic Protocol Initiated: 97% Functional | Minor particulate infiltration purged]

For a fraction of a second, a secondary sensory channel activated without his command. Shade-9’s head tilted exactly four degrees and he waited to see what might happen.

"All systems seem functional" Shade-9 reported as he looked towards the more magically and psionically talented in Team Fusion "are any of you able to assess the statues gem for active energy signatures?"

Urgan is disappointed that his illusions did not offer more protection for the group -- if everyone has now seen through them, there is no chance for them to flee.

Uncertain what to do, he lashes out with his mind, and positions himself so that he can see Siobhan. He feels her mind with his, and squeezes.

Meanwhile, Scamp has found a bone , and his jaws clench down on it. He's a happy boy.
Near to where Merrick was standing, a small pool of acid appears, hopefully halting the advance of the Mercenaries.

OOC: Move to BA 21 (15')
Action: attack with Mind Sliver DC 14 Int save or 1d6=6 (woo!) psychic damage and -1d4 on next save before the end of my next turn
Move (part 2): Back to BA 18.
Bonus: Minor Illusion: A pool of Acid bubbles up at BA 21.

Copper puts away his bow and comes smiling up to the gathering group.
"That's a lot of fuss over something so small." He says eyeing up the statue, before overhearing Aywin and taking a step back. "Whatdaya mean, 'cursed'?"

Torhak pops up next to mercenaries and shouts at them. The magic of his spell amplifies it terribly, the whole area shaking under tremendous boom.
"Booyah!"
He risks immediate retreat, hoping the spell and his sudden appearance will confuse them enough not to react. But better that than remain in full sight of the casters.

Thunderwave Con DC 12: 2D8 = [4, 4] = 8
OOC: push 10' away, save for half and no push, anything not bolted down flies away 10' back. Catches whole cube of mercenaries
Moves back to the same position he started in.

EDIT: should have used disguise self to look like that woman caster from earlier :D

Terrin - Team Fusion

Terrin takes note of the statue's appearance and responds to Shade-9's question.

"I have no such ability," he says.

Bjorn eyed the strange statue with disgust as he sat dripping on his haunches.

A foul corruption of stone an earth! Better it be that it is destroyed, he thought to himself.

Hearing Shade's query, he knew he could cast a ritual to detect magical essences, but that required him to change back to his humanoid form. It seemed prudent to stay in frog-form for now. At least until they were clear from these watery tunnels.

Meanwhile, Bill eyed the tunnel to the northwest and chirped, seemingly eager to explore that direction.

Team Fusion

Aywin (through Svetlana's scouting) and Shade-9 (having been closest to the area) independently calculated that it would be possible for the group to move counter-clockwise along the various shorelines to reach the dimly-lit ledge on the western shore of the Hydra's Pool. However, the area immediately south and west of the pool was steep, slick with mud, and treacherous. If anyone was to slip and fall, they could slide into the waters too close to the hydra for comfort. But if they made it, it would be a relatively easy climb into the worked passage above.

On the other hand, there was still the unexplored area north of the lake, which Bjorn's weasel, Bill, was sniffing the air and chirping at, perhaps attracted by something or other. From there toward the north-west, there was the sound of rushing water, as if the lake turned into a falls as it wound westward.

OOC: It's probably a good idea for me to know which way you'd like to go so that I can update us tomorrow with that in mind.
