5' Step; AoO and Diagonal Movement

Hi Folks,
I was just wondering if people allow a diagonal move for a 5' Step. Technically this is more than 5', however, I was curious if people just say "a square is a square" type of thing for this one square move. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

The first diagonal square counts as 5-feet of movement, so that answers your question, I think.

I use the diagonal movement rule of 5-10-5. So the first diagonal move counts as 5 feet.
