OOC: [roll0]

Zivar leans in and whispers "Do you hear that... Oh thank the gods I thought I was the only one."

He looks around for the source of the whispers and sees the others start to struggle with something. He looks down and panics as he sees the vines trying to grab him.

"Asherah, there was something up in the trees above you. It was quick and small and travelled parallel with us toward the spring. Did you notice it and recognize it as something benign? Or it is something we need to be wary of...what?!" Quentin exclaims as the plants grab at him.

He pulls with all his might, pinning the plant with his trident as he pulls away.

Strength check: 1D20+1 = [14]+1 = 15 - add +1 if proficiency applies

While most were able to jump away from the vines, Zivar and Jordy became stuck fast as the vines wrapped around their limbs, pinning their legs together, and their arms to their sides.

Up ahead, lights begin flying to and from where the spring should be, zipping between the trees before winking out.

OOC: Your actions at this point are your own. A strength check is needed by Zivar and Jordy to try to escape, and if anyone wants to help them, they get advantage. However, the area around them is now Difficult terrain, as the vines and grass are overgrown now.

Quentin grabs Jordy and pins the plants holding him to the ground while pulling him toward himself. Even if plants do not release Jordy, he pulls back as much as he can, carrying/pulling Jordy along.

"Find the border of the affected area! Repel the boarders!" Quentin stops for a moment and thinks finishing lamely "Erm, I mean, you know, attackers."

OOC:
Obviously, pulling only as far as the plants go, but the idea is the stretch the plants so that someone can cut them or burn them without cutting Jordy.

odd - Zivar; even - Jordy: 1D6 = [2] = 2 jonathonhawke, advantage

Both little folk are able to get out of the twisting vines, and break away. From somewhere in the woods, seeming to come from everywhere, yet nowhere, a small giggle can be heard.
