Quentin offers the hand
"We have some adjusting to do, both of us, all of us. Friends?"

OOC: Assuming Dariana accepts :)

After the handshake he turns toward the rest of the party.
"We can figure that out when we see what's going on. It may be as simple as getting rid of the source. The spring will clean itself. Depending on the size of the pool, I can cleanse it in time as my heritage allows."

He nods at Dariana's comment. "I believe everything we see here or do on the way is a test. They do need some way to determine where to put us. And while risks we may perceive are likely less dangerous than they appear, I wouldn't count on anything here being safe. On the ship, first rule is to check and re-check before singing off something. Loose ropes, poorly attached anchors, seeminlgy dead whales...whatever, everything is a risk if you're days away from nearest land."

Zivar speaks up, hoping he is not out of place in doing so, but eager to get this over with and not get stuck out in a storm.

"It seems sir that we would be happy to look into this matter for you. Could you tell us how to get there, or come with us since you know the way? I agree with you guys that as much as a nice warm stew sounds great, I'm sure it will taste even better in a nice dry place while it rains outside."

His body language showing that he is ready to go as soon as they know where they are going.

"Yes, there is a path through the forest to the west. I wore it down myself. It should take you straight to the spring. I'm afraid I won't be joining you. If you truly are candidates, I can't help you do anything, but I will be here when you get back. Other than some wolves and whatever is causing the disturbances, I've never seen anything dangerous on this side of the woods, but who knows what you will find at the spring."

OOC: Please give me your marching order, and what you are doing during the march. In other words, are you looking for danger, or keeping an eye on the path, or looking for strange plants? Just let me know what you're doing and we'll move forward.

Quentin goes first. If the path is wide enough to walk two abreast or more we could take the same order as when we left our arrival point. He keeps the trident pointed forward, holding it in his right hand.

If someone else wants to be the point, Quentin will simply move aside and take right flank as before. He keeps an eye forward on both sides of the trail trying to catch signs of ambush up front. He doesn't pay much attention to sides or behind counting on his companions for that.

Mim will slot himself in the front middle section.close enough to be in his bows range but far enough to have a few bodies in front. Keeping alert for danger.

Zivar is perfectly happy staying in the middle. He would be keeping an eye out for anything that moves, sparkles (natural or not), or seems scary, not so much because he's a coward, ok maybe a little, but more because the stakes are high and this is all completely new to him so he's a big jumpy.

Jordy also stays in the middle, keeping both eyes open for danger, not because he's afraid, but because he knows that if you give in to fear, you die (unless you're very, very lucky - and he figures he's used up his share of that kind of luck).

We'll just assume the same marching order for now.

The band turns west, headed in the direction Hinar gave you. You re-enter the forest, leaving the clearing of strange flowers behind.

The trek takes about an hour, but the path is relatively clear. The clouds are growing darker, and the wind has picked up slightly. At this point, you are close enough to the spring to hear the sounds of water, but still cannot see it.

OOC: Everyone can make a perception check, if they like.
