OOC: Are there any windows in the room?

OOC: Sure, why not? Each room has a window, though they are stuck. It'll take a DC 11 Strength (Athletics) check to open one.

Cold, everything got colder all old a sudden Barnabus didn't like the cold and Mim didn't like this dark energy outside his door. Barnabus quickly squeaks out a plan to Mim involving feats of strength and daring acrobatics, with just a little magic.

Mim heads over to the window and attempts to Jimmy it open with his dagger.

OOC: If this goes wrong can I smash said window? [roll0]

OOC: You most certainly can!

 

[Azurewraith]

Frustrated with his failure at the window Mim smashes the thing to bits with a nearby stool before flinging him self out the window keeping tight hold of Barnabus as he does. Savouring the few seconds of air time the ring gives him Mim floats to the ground and surveys the Inn from the outside looking for any signs of what could be causing this malefic aura.

Mim leaps from the window, landing softly. The cold is biting, the snow falling lightly. Fortunately, it's the normal kind of cold. The Necromantic aura doesn't extend out here.

Unfortunately, I'm going to assume that Mim didn't have time to dress properly for his nightly walk. He is now really, really cold. And he broke the window. Not sure how the Innkeeper's going to take that, but at least Mim isn't facing...whatever it was giving off that aura!

 

[Charwoman Gene]

Dariana grabs her bow and arrows and tries to creep into the hall, silently as she can.

OOC: Stealth: 1D20+4 = [2]+4 = 6

Jordy manages to get his door open quietly, peering down the dark hall.

Unfortunately, Dariana's door creaks horribly when it opens. Both of them see a figure down at the end of the hall.

Tall and unnaturally thin, the humanoid shape stands in front of a guest room door. It turns its skeletal head towards Dariana, it's toothy grin unnatural and filled with evil, its eyes blazing with inner power. The creature looks like a mummified corpse, except for its hands. Its hands are unnaturally large, with razor sharp nails extending from long, wicked fingers. A powerful wave of necromantic energy emanates from the creature, stronger than any either of the two have felt before.


The creature seems to smile at the intruders, then turns away, pushing the door to the guest room open.

Jordy screams, "Die Monster!" and lets loose an Eldritch Blast.

Mim is beginning to think this wasn't such a good idea.... He heads for the Inn door squeaking indignantly at Barnabus.
