D&D 5E 5e Halcyon Academy

**Whirlp, pTing/Bzzap!**

The sling stone was lodged into the wood of the target. But the area immediately around it was scorched. It wasn't a perfect shot, but at least he was hitting his mark more often than not. Grody tucked his sling away as he stepped up to admire his handiwork. Fore-claw scratching a bit at the scorched area, he extricated his ammunition, still marvelling at the marks left over by the electrical discharge.

The sounds of fight in drew his ear-holes and letting curiosity get the better of his natural caution, he moved to get a look at the combatants. Recognising Mim nearby he quickly pulled up the hood of his cloak to hide the now-prominent blue scales that seemed to be taking over his body seeming to start at his spine and work. Their way down his sides.

Seeing Grody approach Mim turns to him"I know not why they fight, friends should not fight but Mim has plan to stop this" Mim suddenly begins to mimic the sound of a drunk snoring in an alleyway before continuing."You look different, confident. What school you attend?"

Grody startled slightly at being noticed. By then novescloser to Mom listening and looks up in surprise at the compliment.

"Grody thank... Grody in Arcan shool. Learn to be Dragon Sorcerer." To demonstrate, he holds his hand-claw up and ripples of electricity arc between his claw tips for a moment.

"He always follow her around like lost hatchling. Now she follow him. Maybe she mad?"

"Lost hatchling? He hatched from an egg?" Mim's Kenku nature does not understand such creative use of language he passes a wispy ball of green mist from hand to hand."Mim study with Morgana, she teach Mim many things" Mim finishes in Draconic.

OOC: Dont feel bad. This is all from Raven's perspective. She's very condescending. You took exception to something else she said about him earlier. If you can't take her heat, stop stoking the fire!
Also, lets do it round by round. Others can come watch if they want. I'll be bringing Korlin, Jorrick and Mezzra up soon for y'all to interact with.

OOC: No problem! I'm not taking exception to what she says, I'm afraid I project wrong image because English is not my first language and sometimes I think you misunderstand what I am saying rather than playing a character. I don't get offended by in-character chatter, whatever it is. But my imaeg of Quentin is a bit of a swagger (born into rich family, but 'understanding' of commoners - simply because he lives with sailors he thinks he knows how they live. He has same problems on the ship, of course. And goes with them on shore. But in his home port, he goes to rich household, not a woman he needs to explain why he (again) came with little money and several kids who need their father.

NOTE: could he feel inspired enough to get that extra three hp? :)

Quentin rushes at the girl trying to engulf her in wrestlers hold.

Move: next to Raven
Action: Grapple check opposed with Athletics/Acrobatics: 1D20+4 = [4]+4 = 8 - BOO! But still, she may roll 1 :)

Grody cocked his head at Mim trying to understand the question. "Grody not mean like that. Is... met... ta... por? He act like hatchling, not is hatchling. But mybe to her he is?"

Zivar looks down at the ring before him. The trinity cut on the stone accentuated the silver and gold braided band quite well. He smiles, it's perfect. Surely the senior student that commissioned it would be happy with it.

This ring was a milestone for Zivar. With most of his attention going to working on his schooling he didn't have much time for his trade and bartering away things had surely made raising money take longer than it should have. But with this he would have enough for the ritual he's just finished copying into his spellbook and he would finally get to try it.

The Elf Josidiah Lorathyra looked down his nose at Zivar as always, he was a bit full of himself and if Zivar were honest with himself he looked forward to some day showing him up, but for now it's business, he needed the 10 gold profit he would make from this ring to get the supplies needed for his spell.
"Here is is, everything as you requested. You will see that the cut of the stone you gave me for it is perfect." Zivar said with pride.

Josidyah inspected the ring. "I suppose it will have to do" He said as he handed over the coin purse.

By the Gods I don't like him Zivar forced a smile. "Pleasure doing business with you Josi!" The use of the shortened name drew the cold glare Zivar figured it would. "Have a great day and I hope the lucky lady enjoys the ring." Zivar walked away, knowing that Josidyah had purchased the ring for himself.

Later in the evening Zivar was working in one of the classroom labs, A brass brazier burning in front of him his head down, looking through the things he had gotten that day. Charcoal, Incense, herbs, everything he should need.

He flexed his fingers a moment before starting to read aloud, deftly moving his hands and ceremoniously placing items in the brazier to be consumed by the flames. Smoke rose and began to swirl and change colors and begin to take form.

Zivar watched with amazement as the cat before him stretched, jumped gracefully down off the table and started rubbing against his leg.
