D&D 5E 5e Halcyon Academy

Grody sits up when he realizes that the Headmaster has arrived. He listens intently to the offer and then stands up on his stool nervously. It takes himself a moment to compose himself and then he speaks.

"Grody gratefull for offer. Grody will help."

Suddenly uncomfortable, the little Kobold sat back down abruptly.

"We were just discussing this. I think we will all accept. As long as we can get back to the Academy for learning and improvement. We will choose a name." offer Quentin.

"Do you already have a task in mind or is this just a recruiting meeting? We appreciate you coming to join us, rather than have us summoned to your office. Is this something we need to keep secret?"

OOC:
Quentins bubble :p

Quentin, Mim, Grody, Zivar, Asherah, Jordy, Dariana --> I'm sure there is plenty we can create with Qu, Mi, Gr, Zi, As, Jo, Da or some variations thereof :D

"Oh, Don't worry, you'll be at the Academy most of the year," he said with a smile. "No need to keep anything secret. And I do have something in mind. On the mainland there is a small village, called Oakhurst. The defendants of a good friend of mine live there. They are a Merchant family, and they are having some trouble. I owe their family a favor, and they are calling it in. I don't have the time to go myself, but I cannot ignore their cries for help, so I am sending you.

"It'll be winter there, you'll want to dress warm. Talk to the matriarch of the family, Kerowyn Hurcule. She will tell you more. Make any preparations you need. Professor Haught will transport you to where you need to go.

"Any questions?"

"What happens if we come across something we cannot handle?" Mim inquires as he mentally makes prep for winter, life on the street taught Mim to respect the cold.

The Headmaster shrugs, "Handle it. You're adults. You think of yourselves as students, but as you've shown today, you're resourceful. Trust in yourselves, you'll be fine. Play to your strengths. Be smart, be strong.

"But you will have this," he set a small idol on the table. It looked like a beautiful woman, sitting on the ground, praying. "You can use it to contact me. Use it when you're done. It takes a few minutes for it to start working, so it isn't going to help your in a fight, if it comes to that. It's not an emergency get away. But it's something."

"I'd love the chance to do some good in the world, instead of endless training," says Dariana, "I think, however, we're going to need to supply ourselves quite a bit. If anyone lacks resources, I have some we can tap into."

Zivar Gnome Wizard

Sitting silently, listening and taking it all in until now.

"We obviously appreciate your offer headmaster but I Have some requests from you as well." Zivar smiles, it's not a comfortable smile, more one of someone that is resigning to do what must be done, and make the best of it.

"After all you were hear when I said I was going to try to drive a hard bargain, and I'm a gnome of my word. Getting on and off the island is tricky to say the least and traveling to exotic locations is expensive, we will need you to take care of travel arrangements and expenses. I'd also like two scrolls so that I can continue my studies while traveling. There are two spells specifically that I am trying to learn if you can help with getting those that would be wonderful."

OOC: Looking to study Alarm and Sleep if he asks.

Quentin doesn't really need anything to start fighting so he sits quietly (for a change) sipping at his vine and winking at passing wenches. Before he remembers hard eyes of certain black-haired woman after which he turns back and pays attention once again on the table proceedings.
