Steelshaper

First time poster and this is a bit of a doozy. I'm getting back into D&D after nearly a decade and my magnanimous DM has allowed me to homebrew a class for a little interlude campaign we're doing so I'm reviving a long-abandoned 4e project. The core concept of the Steelshaper is melee utility/crowd control? With lots of room for flavorful imaginative interactions with the game world.

While I'm pretty happy with the overall core, I'd appreciate any ideas about balance, primarily in regards to the Shaper Arts. Because Steelshapers get very little in the way of damage boosts, I'm thinking of them more as casters that happen to melee, and am trying to balance the arts accordingly. I'm also accepting pitches for arts to add to the list.

Thanks for your time, anyone who reads this. Your comments and critiques are not only welcome, they're desired.

P.S. I also added a background to fit with the class for a quickbuild since nothing in the official materials was really what I was looking for. Thanks!

Interesting build! I have a question about Constricting Veil. The stat block says the Magnitude=d4, but in the description, it reads: When you hit a creature with a shaper steel weapon attack, you can expend one d6 magnitude shaper die to cover your target’s eyes in constricting bands of steel.

Typo?
