Nice! Can you share the Heroforge model link? I want to have a backup of everyone's models, and also I want a consistent base for the PC models. It makes it easier to distinguish PCs vs. NPCs vs. monsters and makes it easier for me to apply color filters to your PC models.

I don't like "do I find anything" type questions. What would Harun be looking for specifically? Or what is his justification in violating the privacy of a respected Sheikh who is ostensibly an ally?

Despite the fact that Harun is comfortable everywhere, he is very much an Al-Badia. He views everyone as being equal, and silently snickers at those who believe themselves to be better than others. He extends this to Sheiks and perhaps even his own cousin.

So he finds their dirt and exploits it. Not because he's evil, or because he wants to be a vigilante, he just thinks its funny for men to find out they aren't all they think they are.

So he snoops. He'd go by the Harem, finding out how they are treated. He'd check out the Sheik's room, to check to see if he finds any incriminating documents or signs of treachery against the Grand Caliph, or even just to see what plots the man might have, even if they're not evil plots. Harun likes to know what's going on.

It's rare he ever finds a good man in a position of wealth. When he does, he respects them and they earn his loyalty, even if he's never talked to them. Or at least, what passes for his loyalty.

For a Sheik, he wouldn't take too many risks, or snoop too much. He'd just talk to the other guards, peak in the Sheik's room, do some low level investigation, using his Hat of Disguise to get what info he needs.

So what general feel would he get for the Sheik? Good man? Or in need of some humility?

Well, you're deviating pretty far off course, so I'll need to get back to you on that. Would have been great to know this was your plan in advance; would have delayed my post until resolving this.

What I know off the top of my head without doing more reading is that Sheikh Ali of Tajar is formerly al-Badia, the son of a Sheikh who liberated Tajar from an evil Sultan. He is regarded as even-minded, neither beloved nor hated, but having a reputation as a man with a keen mind. I'll read through the books to see what I can pick out; may take me to end of next week.

What you're describing feels more like a side adventure than a snappy two-liner I could summarize quickly.

Ok, then let's not go that far. This was the direction I decided on tonight, because I was trying to think of an in character reason for him to be hiding among the guards, and that's what I came up with.

So we'll say he hasn't gone that far, yet. In fact, lets do this, since I feel the 'he's been there all along!' is a little too forced. Let's just have him show up now, while the rest of them are having their meeting. He's just showed up, with a letter from the Grand Caliph (or the Grand Caliph's uncle), saying he's supposed to help. He'll wait outside until he's sent for, chatting with the guards. The Sheik has probably heard of him, and you can include his reaction to the letter, and how he's treated from there, and I'll just react to whatever you do.

I could easily say "Sheikh Ali seems like a fair-minded ruler, with keen knowledge of the city's merchant. He has correspondence with his harem which is split between the city and his tribe remaining in the desert, and seems to highly value his two lady-viziers."

But that's pretty surface stuff.

The kind of "dirt" you're asking about – specific documents, etc. – I'd need to do some digging for mention of Sheikh Ali across books, and consider the trajectory of the campaign as well. I can do it. I'll just need time.
