Your assumptions seems to be true. Though I didn't intend for her to be like that, as I write her actions the personality of the character takes me that direction. Her number one priority is her Father above all else. Sheikh or not, if you wrong him, may god have mercy on your soul. So, she will be taking this mission seriously and I can see interesting conflict between her and the trickster gensai, but I will play it as she would. Haven't pulled a punch yet and don't intend to start anytime soon.I'm thinking that Husam would view Akilah as being in charge of the mission. Am I missing any protocol or status that would shift that?

Haha, "murderous waif", I may have to use that Shayuri
One of the things that I intend to play with is "who is in charge?" In a traditional AD&D Al-Qadim game it might be whoever has the highest station. I'm guessing Akilah (vizier) and Harun (son of a prince) are pretty close, though it's also possible Harun has lost some station due to criminal activity, gambling debt or otherwise becoming penniless, or making a fool of himself at the Grand Caliph's court.
Who is in charge may change depending on location and circumstance. In Tajar, it's Akilah. But in the barren stretches of the High Desert? Undercover in an enemy camp? In another city like Qadib? In an audience with the Great Caliph of the Djinn? In the harem of the Grand Caliph Khalil al-Assad? It could change.
I am curious how the whole, I can never tell when he is lying thing will go down. Can't say that Akilah wouldn't know about such magic that alludes her truth seeking ability. Would probably just make her cautious to what he says at least. Should be interesting regardless.
