D&D 5E [5e] QL's Al-Qadim Game

I don't want to leave the game. I realize I may just not have been playing Harun well. He bucks the system, gets into trouble. I should revel in that instead of shy from it.

So, from now on, I expect Harun to be more vocal and mischievous. I've never played a purposefully mischievous character before. Could be fun.

And that water skin is mine.

I was wondering what happened with that Thateous ... it's why I prefer coyote code :) (although it can be a bit fiddly too)

I didn't miss anyone's posts, just a rare case of simultaneous posting. :)

Generally, I find using www.coyotecode.net or www.orokos.com to roll dice makes for a cleaner less cluttered thread. I understand why using ENWorld's built-in roller is appealing for folks writing from a mobile device, but it does necessitate posting without knowing the results of your check & often posting a followup post to summarize damage / results.

You used the wrong kind of brackets.

I also think that editing it to the right brackets mucked it up somehow.
I actually prefer Orokos because it saves all my rolls under the profile to view later. I started with coyotecode and switched to Oro sometime earlier this year. Unfortunately I can't go to coyote or Orokos here in the desert like I could back in the states, so unless I'm in my room on my own internet I will have to use the enworld roller.

On a side note, sorry for the short post about casting bless, I was half way to deep sleep town and saw it was my turn. Just wanted to keep the ball rolling and not have you guys wait 9+ hours while I dream of not being in a 3rd world country...

Yeah, and to make matters worse, sometimes I use one, sometimes the other. Probably better to just buckle down and use one. It's a convenience sometimes to just throw the code down and not bother with going to a site and so on...but I'll stick with outside rollers now. It does make things easier to narrate.

You can't edit a roll. It won't let you, to keep you from cheating. It's why I do a new post when I mess up.

We work with what we've got. Are you traveling for work Thateous or stationed over there?

Btw, how did this first major combat feel for everyone? Did the pacing feel right and my way of handling initiative/rolls/rulings feel about right? On paper, it was an "easy" encounter with a CR 13 homebrew pyrohydra – did it feel like a suitably challenging "warm up" combat to get a feel for your PCs? Were the few things I ad libbed - tail attack at 50% HP and boiling water near death – received in the spirit of making a solo fight more interesting (and not "oh, that rascally DM is cheating")?
