Sorry, 2E lovers, while I think 2E is definitely more "old school" than any WotC edition, it started the whole splat book mess (character options and campaigns) that has wrecked the hobby IMO.

Wait! Can we crit on these? When do we roll??

(Seriously, can we make this a thing where we roll a d20 when we vote and if we get a 20 we can double the points? Puh-leeeeze!!!! 🙃)

Just 500 or so posts to go for a winner!

I don't like to make adjustments myself as I might be mistaken, but it looks like AD&D 2E is two points too high (it should be 56...I think).

I downvoted ADD2 to 56 in post #371 and in the next post (#372) it is showing up as 58 points. Perhaps that poster had copied the post before mine and thus did not reflect my downvote?

Anyone with "official" authority want to look at this to determine the correct score for ADD2E?

Properly speaking, 500 would be an absolutely pessimal case, actually. That is, after 247 further posts, all points currently on the board will be gone, which can only happen if the voters coordinate their votes for an absolutely pessimal outcome (that is, always downvoting high numbers and always upvoting low numbers). This would mean a total of +247 points added. From there if each downvoter continue to always downvote the highest option and upvote the lowest option (choosing randomly when there are multiple highest or lowest options), then we'd get a halving of the number of posts required to eliminate all current points on the board. Thus we get ceiling(247/2) = 124, plus ceiling(124/2) = 62, ceiling(62/2) = 31, ceiling(31/2) = 16, and from there it's just powers of 2 (8, 4, 2, 1). So we'd get 247+124+62+31+16+8+4+2+1=495.

We'll only hit 500 extra posts if the final round is down to single-digit competitors. It's much more likely, due to people being "inefficient" in various ways, that we'll end up with about double the number of posts we currently have, or a bit more (so around 750 total posts). Only high-efficiency pessimized voting can draw things out that long!

I think you're right. I'll handle it in my upcoming post - not that I am an official authority.
