Pathfinder was the aunt and uncle that took you when your mums new husband (4e) kicked you out of the house.
Actually, they were more like your grandparents who took you in because you wouldn't give your new step-parent a chance. Turns out they were old-fashioned with a lot of outdated rules and your new parent wasn't so bad. You just didn't like feeling awkward, which was how every night felt watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy and having dinner at 4:30pm. 😁

I believe the Rules Cyclopedia should have +1.

Post #801 appears to have added in a direction: "Dungeons & Dragons, Rules Cyclopedia Edition 39 +1 = 38"

AD&D 2e was my intro to D&D so it will always have a place in my heart even if it doesn't have a place on my list.

The Wildfire Druid actually is pretty cool, and not a concept particularly well-articulated before 5e.

If I were making my own edition, I'd make Druids themed around the cycle of the seasons (e.g. Wellspring Druid for a "healing waters"+Spring, Wildfire for Summer, Harvest Moon Druid taking the existing Moon option and giving it more flavor, and Hoarfrost Druid for a deadly protector).

I find it interesting that the remaining editions are the only editions that I've played. 1e is getting dinged only because it is the edition I played the least of. 5e did a lot of things right just needed a good once over (I'm excited for A5E :D).
