Huh. While not specifically in the books, travel was a major theme. There is still time! My name is based on the Prydain Chronicles (which is loosely based on Welsh mythology) and Arawn was the main antagonist which is why I voted for him.

Oh, I recognized the reference: Taran was meant by Alexander to be a Lugh-esque figure, I believe, at least by the same lights that the weird pop pan-Celticism that informed Jim Ward's bananas D&D "Celtic Pantheon."

I didn’t know this. It makes sense. This series of books was my introduction to the fantasy genre when I was young and Taran and I had some things in common so it made an impression. I never owned an oracle pig though.

I somehow missed reading the Prydain Chronicles (although I loved The Black Cauldron), so my reading introduction to the "Celtic Mythos" was Riders of the Sidhe, the first book in Kenneth C. Flint's Sidhe series.

EDIT: Huh, he published a fourth book in the series in 2012! Wow!

My wife read Prydain as an adult, and she says they hold up! I am incapable of objectivity...
