D&D 5E 5E Survivor - Subclasses (Part IX: Paladin)

The only paladin I've ever played was an Oath of Ancients paladin with the Outlander background. He and his whole clan practiced ancestor-worship, so the "gods" were actually his distant relatives. (He was a Shifter, and his clan believed they all descended from a "great wolf," so great-great-grandma was probably a werewolf.) So when it was time for him to swear his oath, he swore to uphold the honor of his clan and his people.
I've only played Oath of Ancients myself, though there are others I'd love to play if I weren't the primary DM. So little play time and so many classes/subclasses to pick from!

Some of ya'll have a strong bias against Unearthed Arcana.
And ya know what? I get it. There are already over 120 subclasses in this game, way more than we will ever need, but they keep adding more for some reason. And nearly all of them start out as Unearthed Arcana playtests...so it's time to attack the source. Enough is enough!

There can never be enough subclasses. If I want to play a Pathfinder, I want a subclass for that. I don't want to have to kludge one together from some other ranger subclass that doesn't match the vision. That's why 3e's myriad of prestige classes was so fantastic. Between the prestige classes, feats and skills, I could make just about any concept I wanted without having to kludge it together. 5e doesn't do that for me.[/quote]
