5E - What do you predict for FIFTH edition?

The rules will be a flexible and complete model of fantasy dynamics, including magical physics and dramatic plot coherence. However, they will be complex to the extent that only trans-human cyber intelligences will be able to actually play. Fortunately for WotC, by that time, all the money in the world will belong to trans-human cyber intelligences.

Actually, it will have gummi minis and edible rules printed on fruit roll-ups. Since our own Eric Noah has some inside connections, I'm convinced he's right:

Um, scary -- one of my groups literally almost played D&D with gummi bears instead of minis the other night.

See, now that's what WotC needs to get into. Edible minis and maybe edible rules printed on fruit roll-ups!

LoL great minds ...

point: we must be just the tip of the iceberg, there must be many more out there who are thinking the same, proving there is a market for edible core rules,

I think the rulebooks could come on a tablet....or use some of that future silicon paper-thin digital displays so that elements of the rulebooks could be animated....:)

Maybe that's more like 7th Ed., if it makes it that far..

I predict it will be a collectible-card/miniature hybrid with randomized card and miniature types per package (opaque, ofcourse, so that you can't see what's inside), no dice (just cards), and a full focus on combat (resolved by cards and represented by miniatures); a few miniatures and cards will be given for free in McDonalds' Happy Meals, or you could buy larger packages at Walmart. It will, ofcourse, have an MMORPG version which will be made by Microsoft (by then the sole computer corporation on the planet). Having a vast amount of D&D collectibles will not make other kids call you a "geek", but rather envy you for having all the latest-and-greatest fashion items (up to and including Lidda(tm) and Mialee(tm) lines of clothing by the Nike-Versache' megaconglomerate).
