Tempting but I didn't like Aliens^3 and Aliens: Resurrection. I hated them killing Newt in Aliens^3. Just made Aliens pointless.

5 DVDs of bonus material? It still sounds like overkill...

9 dvds? How is that even possible? I suspect a lot of useless junk with a smattering of tasty morsels. Unfortunately, by seeing a new rehashed DVD set, I guess we probably shouldn't look forward to an Alien 5 any time soon if ever or I suspect they would have waited.

I agree on not liking 3 and 4.

Both had some cool scenes, but the stories were just weak. It took me a long time to figure out what went wrong, then I saw a special a few months back on the aliens franchise and they explained it: Weaver became a producer and had a heavy hand in the storylines.

Tada.

The most amusing line from the special was her saying during the filming of the second one, iirc, that she wishes the movie would not have as many guns in it.

Moreover, they're developing an Aliens 5 which means there's yet another boxed set after this.
