"Let's all move forward together until we get to the chimney, then we'll make a plan."

The part moves up the mountain, arriving at the chimney. Tree cover here is pretty scattered, as the ground is rocky and inhospitable to plants.

OOC: I wonder if his clairvoyance would work. "You don’t need line of sight or line of effect, but the locale must be known—a place familiar to you or an obvious one." says the description. Would 'the bottom of the chimney' be an obvious locale?

I think it would be obvious only if you knew how far the chimney extended. The other side of this door is obvious, for example. 50' down the chimney is obvious.... but you don't know if the chimney extends down 50' or 500'.

"No one is going down that chimney when it is smoking. Let's close it up and hide."

Iggy thinks rocks might do best, covered by bushes. Perhaps someone has a shield we could use. Perhaps we'll just have to stuff some leafy branches into the top...

Opale nods at Iggy suggestion. She scan the surrounding to find anything that could block the chimney.

Planus scours the area for tracks while the others are stopping up the hole. If Charlarn does the same then he aids him.

Charlarn pulls the shield off his back. "Here you go, Ignatious. This should cover that chimney nicely. We better find a hiding place first."

Jack points out a few choice hiding spots, before slipping into one of his own. He keeps his bow and a quiver of arrows at hand.

Probably. I'm not 100% sure. However, you will need cover or concealment to hide, and if you can get total cover or concealment it "obviates the need for a Hide check."

There are some large rocks about 100 feet away from the chimney in which you could gain total cover.

You've managed to plug up the chimney pretty thoroughly, though there's still some smoke leaking out. Anyone doing anything other than waiting?

Iggy asks the others to help putting some leafy brush over the shield. He would like it to not be obvious that a sheild is blocking the vent, in order to encourage any investigators to come closer & have to clear away the branches.

Iggy will load his crossbow and take the concealment behind the rocks. He'll let the better hiders or the melee types take a closer position.

Opale awaits in her hiding place, she will go somewhere where whe has total cover, even if it hide her sight of the chimney, and expect some more competant will keep an eye on it.

Jack shoves the large stone that originally concealed the chimney on top of the shield and brush. With bow and arrow at the ready, he hides behind this stone to stay close when the ambush is sprung.
