A Clash of Earth and Sea (El Jefe Judging) [See Part II]

"Any serious move on our part would either prompt the Merrow to meet us in a pitched battle, or if the odds looked bad to them they might instead retreat into air filled portions of their caves where we wouldn't dare pursue. Do you wish to pursue that course?"

"Moving them to the air-filled parts will help us out. It's hard for us to fight underwater, so it'd be a level field then."

"We could also look for some kind of ground entrance. I think I remember seeing some kind of light coming from somewhere abowe, before we were attacked by the Scrags. The more humanoid allies of the Merrow would probably need other entrance too, unless they also have water breathing magic.", Ducane says.

ooc: Xael snuck that one in on me there. Do you want to do that instead? From what you've seen, the merfolk may not fare well against the Merrow in an open battle.

OOC: We did see some kind of light, rigth? Or am I remembering wrong? Not that it quarantees that there's a ground entrance, but hey...

IC: "I suppose you couldn't sell us one of those healing sticks or whatever they are? If you have something like that.", Ducane asks the Merfolk.

After consulting, it turns out that the Merfolk do not have any wands available. However, they do have about a dozen horns (scrolls) of cure light wounds, 3 horns of cure moderate, and a horn of cure serious wounds.

No one here knows of a land based entrance to the Ogre caves.

Charlarn says, "Thank you. This'll be hard. The merrow and scrags are tough. With the grace of the Searcher, we'll find a way to beat them. If I might have those horns that you don't need for yourselves, it would be a great help."

OOC: If he gets any, he'll put them in an pouch, not the haversack.

"Neither of us have the power to defeat the skrag/merrow force by ourselves, perhaps. But together, we should have a good chance. What kind of a force do you think you will be able to amass?" asks Iggy
