A Clash of Earth and Sea (El Jefe Judging) [See Part II]

KB posted that she was very busy and was retiring Kirin, but she didn't say anything about Sara. For now, I'm interpreting that to mean she intends to check in on this thread when possible (which probably won't be terribly often.)

Charlarn of Phyrah: Male human cleric 3/ranger 2

Before they leave, Iggy says to the group. "Stay close to me in the beginning of a big battle. I'll try to catch you all in a haste spell."
The cleric replies, "Sounds good, Ignatious. I will cast bless on us as well."

Once the enemy is spotted, iggy casts Mage Armor on himself, loads his crossbow, and pulls in close behind Sara.
Charlarn still can't get the hang of moving underwater. He casts bless catching everyone within 50 ft of him. He then draws his crossbow. (bless lasts 3 minutes and gives a +1 morale bonus to attack rolls and saves against fear effects)

Initiative (If you need it): Initiative (1d20+2=3)
AC: 16
HP: 32/32

Cleric Spells Prepared (4/3+1/2+1: save DC 13 + level):
0-detect magic, light (2), mending;
1-bless, sanctuary*, shield of faith, summon monster I;
2-shield other*, silence, spiritual weapon.
*Domain spell.

Taking her cue from Charlarn, the mermaid with the harp begins to sing in anticipation of the coming battle. Her song fills you all with marshall vigor, providing a boost to morale similar to Charlarn's bless spell.

While she sings (and for 5 rounds thereafter) the adventurers and all the merfolk will gain a +1 morale bonus to attacks, weapon damage rolls, and saving throws v. charm or fear. unfortunately, it won't stack with the bless.

[Initiatives please. Each character can spend two rounds preparing before round 1.]

Iggy init: 22

Iggy tries to position himself in prep round 2, in order to capture all 4 of his companions & one merman in his haste spell, which he'll cast as soon as battle commences

OOC: So we have just a +1 to attack, damage, and saves vs. charm/fear, right? I rolled my initiative above, should I use that still?

Charlarn feels a wave pass through him, similar to his prayer, yet different. He loads his crossbow and waits.

Yes and yes. Sorry, should have been more specific -- I wanted the other players to roll initiative too. Manzanita, if KB is in fact gone, are you willing to run Sara during her absense? I think you know Sara best. :)

I'm hoping the number of missing players turns out to be low, or better yet none...

OOC: OK. I'll NPC Sara for this fight, or until KB makes a post, just don't expect me to make such snappy comments! As Sara already uses thrusting weapons, she'll decline the offer of the tridents. He questionable movement and depedence on melee definitely puts her at a disadvantage underwater against longspear-armed merrow. She'll stand her ground against the advancing creatures, and spring into action after feeling the effects of the haste spell, trying to close in and carve them up. Initiative: 14

Ducane grabs his loaned trident, and moves to somewhere near front lines of the party.

OOC: Init 13. I'm still around, I just can't use my own computer for net access yet (should get that fixed soon). And usual summer things. Dalamar should be around too.

Zack takes a firm grip of his scythe and eyes the approaching enemy.

OoC: Initiative (1d20=20)
Sorry, I'm having trouble reminding my brain that I don't have time during the day due to summer job, and thus keep not posting.
And I just bet that's the only Natural 20 I'm getting in this battle...
