A Clash of Earth and Sea, Part II (El Jefe Judging) [Concluded]

OOC: I missed that post. Jolly good. I've no problem keeping Opale alive.

IC: Planus shakes his head to clear the cobwebs, and sees Opale's fallen form near him. He stands and grabs her, helping lift her back to her feet. Mongrel's power flows through him

OOC: Awesome. Let's keep it moving. I"m on the edge of my seat. My fingers were trembling when I typed my last entry. I've calmed down now, and want to get some more info. I haven't fought an ogre magi since 1E, but Iggy might know some stuff. I'm particularly interested in how often he can cast that cone of cold. I checked up on my knowledge skills. Giants normally fall under nature, though perhaps an ogre mage is something else. I made a generic knowledge check: 18. Iggy's nature mod is +5, making his check a 23. If, by some chance, the ogre magi would fall under knowledge (arcane) however, Iggy's modified check result would be 33. His mods for dungeoneering are +5 & for local, +7

Without ranks in Knowlege (Nature), Iggy can't be sure about the Ogre Mage's abilities. However, he's well enough versed in Knowledge Arcana to know that powerfull spell like abilities are usually usable between one and three times per day. Some are even less frequent, being available only once per week. Iggy estimates its fairly likely the Ogre Mage can't pull that off again, but if he can do it once more he can probably do it twice more.

OOC: Iggy does have a rank in knowledge (nature). He's got a rank in almost all the knowledge skills at this point. But that's helpful, in any case. Iggy does go before Charlarn, PLanus & opale in itiative, so they should all be hasted in round 1 for what its worth. Doesn't help much with spellcasting and an invisible ogre. Not yet anyway.

Ah, missed that. In that case, he's pretty sure that Ogre Mage's can only use cone of cold once per day, and it's there most powerfull ability.

[SBLOCk=OOC]Thanks for this 3/4... by th rules, I think it can't apply, but at the same time, it isn't like I had made a stupid move (like inspecting a glass globe full of acide trapped with a rune)... I hope to be of better use this time.[/SBLOCK]

Opale eyes open to see Planus over her. It took her only a moment to think about what happen. "Thanks Mongrel and Gliran." she whispers as she stands up.

[SBLOCk=OOC]Do we see the Ogre Mage? He doesn't appear on the map but you've stated we see his big two-handed sword? If we see him, where he is. If not, I suppose he is under an improved invisibility spell and I feel like Opale will need to cast her Glitterdust NOW and on the right place.[/SBLOCK]

The Ogre Mage appeared after using his cone of cold, then dissapeared on his next turn. In the meantime, Ducane got a hit in, so several of you had time to get a look. He's currently invisible.
