A colossal dragon ranch?

I saw this thread and though it was about mixing Thai Dragon Peppers with Ranch dressing... :(

Anywho- I like Samloyal23's idea.

So...

1) Craft a statue of a Dragon. (Wall of Stone gives a good start, actually).
2) Cast Stone to Flesh, converting the statue into a real dragon, albeit a dead one.
3) Skin it.
4) Convert it back to stone.
5) Stone Shape
or Fabricate to reform it as an unskinned dragon.
6) Rinse/repeat, starting at step 2, until the stone mass is too small to do it with any more.

7) Profit.

At least until your DM casts Dispel BS on the plan. (Note, by the time you can do this, 900 gp per cycle will be pocket change.)

2) Cast Stone to Flesh, end up with a dragon-shaped hunk of meat.
3) Have your 100 closest friends over for a barbeque...

The most appealing ruling is that the price is indeed labor and the party should provide the materials.

The logical ruling is that dragons shed scales and suddenly it's clear where that hoarde comes from. They sell shed scales at high prices. I mean if someone a fifth my size was willing to pay gold for my dead skin, I'd stop asking awkward questions as soon as I was shown the money.

Most dragons will just eat you and take your gold. Remember the movie Dragonslayer? Sure he made a fireproof shield out of old scales, but he had to risk his life to get close enough to beast's lair to get them...

Yeah, but eating Heroes takes Work... Much simpler to do business and then have them go away.

Yeah, but eating Heroes takes Work...

Heroes are like Dragon fast food:
  1. While you can go out and get them, they often come to where you live, so you don't have to work to get it
  2. If you eat too much of them for a long time, you may get so fat you can't leave your own dwelling without knocking down a wall
  3. They are tasty, but if you eat 'em too often or eat too much of 'em, they could kill you
  4. They come in a wrapping that is harmful to the environment and is not very biodegradable

But the archers bring their own floss and tooth picks for your teeth...
