A few questions that have came up.. (Quicken, Darkvision, Command)

He was talking about Quicken Spell, not Empower Spell. Artoomis is correct. The same applies to any metamagic casting by a sorcerer using any 1-action spell.

Yes I know he was talking about quicken spell, but he was still wrong. The full-round action and casting the spell are the same action. You don't spend a full round action and then have to spend another action even a free action via quicken to have to cast a spell. I used empower to illustrate what he was saying, since he was adding an action to the round, one spending a full round aciton to turn it into a metamagiced spell and then two another action a free aciton now to cast the spell. So if that were so you would have to one spend a full round action metamagicing the spell for non quickened metamagiced spells, and since it is not quickened have to spend an action to cast it which would be an additional standard action. Or do the rules just change for quicken spell, and that is the only metamagic feat where you have to use two actions to cast a spell one to turn it into a metamagic spell and two a free action to cast it.

No. The rules don't change for Quicken Spell. You're just reading too much into his post.

Maybe I am. But dang way too many people 2 in this thread him and bret use the example of turning it into a full round and then casting the spell as a free action as the reason for it not working. I've seen it countless times in threads on this. I think people should just accept that it was written poorly, but thanks to designer comments and T&B we know what was intended, and not try to warp some wierd additional aciton scenario into proving why.
