A few rather quick questions

First Post
Just a few questions that arose out of a recent game session:

1- Can you "aid another" or use cooperation (as per PHB) to assist fellow players in skill rolls like Diplomacy?

On one hand, I see how this could simulate different characters interjecting key words at critical moments, but on the other hand, I can't help but see one spokesman with three others points at him, winking with big grins and thumbs up signs ala Dogma's Buddy Jesus statue. It seems insane that a party of 4 gets +6 to such rolls thanks to assists and cooperations. Assisted use rope? NP

2- I've heard different opinions from different sources and would like more feedback in this regard. Does drinking a potion cause AoOs? Does using a wand with Use Magic Device do so? (Trigger item = no, use of standard action skill = yes).

3- Can you move 5ft as a free action while prone?

4- For that matter, can you move at all while prone?

I'm sure there were more.. can't remember em though heh.

If the Dm so allows, yes. That is entirely up to the DM, and dependent on the situation. One might be allowed to aid, or all.
Or for that matter the Dm may decide that all the PCs babbling at once gives them a -2 circumstance penalty.

I would very seldom allow all the PCs to aid in the attempt, and might even give -2 for each failed aid attempt.
Another possibility would be to give the +2 bonus only if all the PCs succeded in aiding.

As the skill description says, the skill use is subsumed in the activate magic item action, which makes it dependent on what sort of activation it is.
Activating an item with Use Magic Device provokes AoOs only if using the item normally would.

Drinking potions provokes AoOs.

"As a free action"? No, but if all the movement you do in your turn is a 5' step it takes no action.

4- For that matter, can you move at all while prone?

Presumably. I'd say at half movement rate.

Well, you can always ask them when you remember them ;-)
