A fix for Sure Strike

I like the idea of making Sure strike work on basic attacks and the like, that's a solid idea that makes sure strike unique among the powers.

I highly disagree with just bumping sure strike's damage. You do not want at-will powers competing with each other (in this case, sure strike and reaping strike). This is the same problem with twin strike and careful shot, they both do about the same thing.

Sounds like the general gist is people highly like this idea...but not as an attack at-will. Fair enough, I think that oppurtunity attack, basic attack is a good idea. Do you think that would make sure strike tempting enough to use?

It's really not a serious problem if at-will attacks compete. It's not like you have to take both, and there's still a meaningful decision to be made.

I agree, its ok to have the two competing. I would personally take reaping strike for a great weapon fighter and sure strike for a sword'n'board fighter if sure strike was an attack with +2 to hit. With sure strike as it is, I would never take it.

I wouldn't make sure strike the fighter's melee basic. Another +2 to hit on opportunity attacks is a serious bonus and he already gets his wisdom mod on those.

It'd make sure strike truly useful for guardian fighters (who it is recommended for), because it would let them do shield push with combat challenge, hit minions on charge, and make them very sticky. And it's a super simple change that lets the power stay mostly like it is.

Hence, why I like suggesting to make it a basic attack :) When I make more feats for at-will powers, one was going to make sure strike a basic attack.
