And that's where I strongly disagree. A real mother-daughter bond can develop at any age and does not need to start from birth. All they need to do is to spend time together and see what happens. 16 is pretty young to start and there is a lot of years left to form a bond.
BUT real love has to be there first. That's the key. Not whether a kid is 16 years old or three hours old.
