I think in most cases what happens to whom and how comes down to the context of the moment.Now we have to add percentages to this thing?
Why is it that every 'consequence' also punishes the player with homework?
Is the DM trying to show you that the world is out to kill you? If so i like the idea of the aging from the ghost being relative to the species. If the DM is just crunching numbers to get to the next pile of treasure than follow the rules a written and the demi-humans have nothing to fear from such things. Neither way is wrong.
