A monster. A class. A template.

Just for fun, and because I am a bit short of original ideas for some strange encounter :D
Would you like to come up with some creative creature that few adventurers have possibly ever met?

Let's just use ONE base creature + ONE character class (could be prestige if it qualifies for it) + ONE template.

I'd just like to brainstorm some ideas that could be both intriguing in flavor and interesting in their combinations of abilities... Use any 3.0/3.5 material you wish. A special bonus if you can manage to keep the creature below CR 10, so that I might actually use it :p

PS You don't actually need to fully stat them out for the moment, let's keep it at that brainstorming level. On the other hand, adding a very few lines about the creature's history/ecology/motivations/etc. would be great!

Illithid with the Pseudonatural template and levels of Psychic Warrior.

A monstrosity from beyond time and space come to tear out the minds and very souls of it's victims, and enslave the world to use as cattle for all eternity.

A half-vampire gelatinous cube ninja
-It strikes from the shadows, engulfs its opponents and then leaves their mummified corpses behind.

Oh, this is one I've actually used: fire elemental Monks. Dancing, flickering figures of fire, like the flame of a candle, lashing out to strike so fast it's barely visible, and dodging blows in wisps of smoke.

Not sure what template to add to it, though.

Pseudonatural Changeling Artificer; if only because it was an awesome character when I saw it played.

Failing that, Fiendish Winter Wolf Cleric of Hextor.

I don't know the CR, but I played against a DM who ran an adventure using vampiric half-dragon unicorns. They were very challenging.

Flesh plant euqsam necromancer. This creature is an accident of magic and is driven mad by it predicament- a plant that hates animals turned into an animal. It still uses animals as hosts, but is constantly hiding from its former friends.

See the best of 3E monsters thread for the euqsam and Advanced Bestiary for flesh plant.

Creature Swarm Sapphire Dragon.

From the distance, it looks like a glittering swarm of blue motes. As it approaches, you see it's really a swarm of gecko-sized dragons.

This beast loses a lot of its melee punch, but the annoyance to ubered out fighters of having a swarm form cannot be underestimated. ;)

(Creature Swarm is from the Advanced Bestiary)
