A monster. A class. A template.

Awakened Hummingbird Warlock.

"Aww.. Look at the pretty little bird." *ZORT* "Did that shiny little bird just vaporize the wizards head?"

Shadow Troll Ranger
Fiendish Giant Praying Mantis Warlock
Awakened Skeleton Minotaur Barbarian/Blackguard
Phrenic Worg Marshal
Celestial Unicorn Ninja

Awakened Panther Psychic Warrior -- Claw powers and pounce. Natural climb speed obviates some of the need for hands. Metamorphosis takes care of the rest.

Half-Fiend Hobgoblin Swordsage -- An interesting mix of 1/day spell-like abilities and easily recharged maneuvers. The bonus to Dex and Wis just scream Shadow Hand.

Shadow-Creature Azer Barbarian -- "Aren't you a little short to be a Balrog?"

Half-Dragon Phase Spider Blackguard -- Melee monster, and the spider / serpent combo is pretty cool.

Cheers, -- N

Would you like to come up with some creative creature that few adventurers have possibly ever met?

Let's just use ONE base creature + ONE character class (could be prestige if it qualifies for it) + ONE template.
A spellwarped dark creeper barbarian. Abducted from dark one colonies deep in the Underdark by illithids and subjected to torturous magical experiments, these unfortunate creatures are driven mad and thoroughly dominated by their tormentors, who use them as terrifying shock troops in assaults on rival denizens of the Underdark and as sentries on the outskirts of illithid domains.

A werecrocodile goblin druid. Hailing originally from a dwindling tribe of goblins that survived by raiding river traffic, she is the last survivor of a werecrocodile attack that destroyed her people. While she was recovering from her injuries and undergoing the effects of the lycanthropic transformation, a band of adventurers destroyed her werecrocodile "sire" after it attacked a human fishing camp further down the river. Having nothing left in the world, the druid lurks within her tribe's former territory, a new hazard to those travelling the river.

That's a neat looking pic.

It's by Ursula Vernon, I believe.

r.e. the various worg builds - I liked the bit in Fables where Bigby Wolf was the son of the North Wind. Gives him some nice abilities and neatly explains the whole "I'll huff and I'll puff..." bit. Essentially makes him a Half-Air Elemental, Were-Dire Wolf with levels of Rogue.

A couple I've messed around with...

Half-dragon (black) Monstrous Creature (poisoned claws) Giant Octopus Reaping Mauler. (it's cheating a bit to use two templates, but 8 poison saves per round is hard to resist!)

Titanic Creature Leechwalker Monk (flurry of really nasty con-drains...)

Legendary Giant Owl Archivist (a distinctly evil sage-type, for when you want the PCs to be nicely creeped out at their mentor, and therefore more inclined to do their own research and legwork. Give him the Leadership feat and an Umbral Ettercap Druid cohort to make his lair nice and secure...)

Ancient dead (the Ravenloft mummy template) Colossal Giant Scorpion Cleric (apply a cleric's buffing ability to something as this dangerous in melee, and watch out! Makes a wonderfully creepy head of a desert demon-cult, too)

Ooh, I got a good idea watching a rerun on TV today:

Vampiric Mythril-bodied Warforged Artificer. "NOS-482" (Nosferatu)

((OOC: I saw that on a Buzz Lightyear cartoon. 20 yrs old and still watchin' Disney. Oh yeah  ))
