A new feat for two-weapon fighters.

The 3.5e feat Manyshot got me thinking about a new feat for those who fight with two-weapons.

One of the biggest complaints about fighting with two weapons is that you can only take advantage of this style when you can do a full-attack. This thread could possibly make two-weapon fighters more useful.

Double Swing [General]
You can perform a single rapid attack using a weapon in each hand.
Prerequisites: Dex 15, Two-Weapon Fighting
Benefit: As a standard action, you can make a single attack with the weapon in your primary hand, and a single attack with the weapon in your off hand. You suffer a -2 penalty on these two attack rolls in addition to the normal penalties you incur would for two-weapon fighting. For example, a fighter with the Two-Weapon Fighting feat who fights with a one-handed weapon in his primary hand and a light weapon in his off-hand takes a -2 penalty when fighting with two-weapons, but if he did a Double Swing, he would take a -4 penalty on each attack.
Special: A fighter may select Double Swing as one of his fighter bonus feats.

If you really want to model it after manyshot, then it should be one attack roll for both swings.

There's a similar feat in The Quint Ranger, where you attack with both weapons, and the damage is added when penetrating DR, can't remember the penalties to attack it gave though.

Well, I didn't want to make it exactly like Manyshot. It's modeled after Manyshot in the sense that you can attack multiple times with a Standard Action.

Acutally I believe this was in the Quint Fighter ..

Yea .. page 72 of the first print Quint Fighter, the Fegrin's Pair fighting style.

It was the second tier of it

This is funny to me, because I was just thinking of this myself, last night. I was toying more with something like a single strike. I had thought of something like:

Single Strike [General]
You can perform a powerful combined strike.
Prerequisites: Dex 15, Two-Weapon Fighting
Benefit: As a standard action, you make make a combined strike with both weapons, at a -4 penalty to hit. If successful, you inflict 1.5 times your normal damage roll.
Normal: As a standard action, you only get to attack with one weapon.
Special: A fighter may select Single Strike as one of his fighter bonus feats.

But I'm not sure I like the mechanics. Anyone have any better ideas?

What I mentioned was a combat style for two-weapon fighting, that let the attacker apply damage from both weapons to penetrate DR .. so not *that* much of a help, but it is something

prereqs were BAB 8+, Cleave, Combat Reflexes
