"Oh, come on Ramas. People need to see us. New faces and all that. Better that everyone knows who we are, if we go into exploration we may need quick support from the locals. And besides, 'that handsome noble needs help with his manor project, he wouldn't ask if it wasn't safe' sounds better than 'that stranger that came with the ship wants us to work on haunted grounds', right?"

“A wall is a sensible precaution even in settled areas,” Arjhan told Mr. Zircon. “On the edge of the world with unknown dangers, it is nearly a necessity.” He bowed to the man again. “We thank you for your hospitality and would never be so rude as to refuse a party given in our honor,” the green dragonborn said, giving a side eye to Ramas. “But we are weary, as well, so perhaps some of us may not stay so late.” That would allow Ramas an out without being rude.

Ramas’ initial reaction to the mention of a party causes a worried look to cross Mr. Zircon’s face, but as Ramas is slowly swayed into attending by his companions Mr. Zircons worry becomes elation. He shoos you away so that he may get ready for the party and to give you a chance to freshen up as well.

When your group arrives, fashionably late of course, the party is in full swing, as a small band of mixed talent plays well known melodies for dancing Colonists and Sailors alike. The flicker of a small bonfire melds well with the scenery as the sun sets paints the horizon beautiful hues of red, yellow, and orange. The smell of ale, burning wood, and charred meat fill your nasal passages. When your presence becomes noticed the music stops and the silence is filled with cheer. Colonists and Sailors alike clap and cheer for your group in a solemn display of thanks.

As the applause dies out the music begins anew, as you all slowly break off and fall into your own comfort zones. Ramas’ eyes find a raised platform, where Mr. Zircon is raising a glass to him. As he makes his way over he notes the clear air of nobility in the area. Captain Kunka sits on a rail babysitting a drink and staring into sunset. Mr. Zircon, who begs you to drop the formality and call him James, is flanked by a young man dressed in fine ceremonial armor introduces himself as Kenneth. Although Ramas’ is disinterested in even the thought of mingling the other two, James and Kenneth both seem to be more interested in hearing themselves talk. As the party continues Ramas finds himself doing exactly as Captain Kunka, sitting on a rail staring off into the distance, deep in his own mind.

Tarruka and Thren seemed to have similar thoughts and head for an isolated area and try to remain inconspicuous. Hard though they try they both can’t shake the popularity of their recent exploits. Tarruka notes a few stares from unfamiliar faces which cause him to pull his hood down as far as the fabric, and his horns, would allow. A Sailor that he does recognize brings over a Colonist who was staring earlier and drunkenly attempts to explain how gallantly Tarruka is in battle. He even attempts to recreate the blade song technique, but due to his intoxication level he ends up falling over and causing a small ring of laughter to which he also joins in. From then on Tarruka has his own little fan club of curious people.

Thren attempts to distance himself as the focus shifts to Tarruka, but ends up tripping into a circle of women. As he rises to his feet with a quickness the girls are just about to scold his carelessness when one woman verbally notes his handsomeness. When asked his name, Thren mutters something incoherent, which only seems to fuel their interest in this fit, mysterious, half-elf. All his reflexive training could not save him from their curious hands. Cute pointy ears? Check. Wash-board abs? Check. No one could really say for sure where Thren slept that night, but many a Sailor was jealous as he had his pick of any one of them.

Luthor comes dressed in full battle regalia, which Zyra helped you clean to a shine, drawing quite the crowd. It turns out many were curious to hear firsthand accounts of the battles that took place on The Sea Breeze and Luthor was happy to oblige. A few drinks in and everyone was eating up his accounts of the struggles. His enthusiasm kept a crowd the entire night. He spoke on exposing the virtues of the life at the frontier, working your own fate from the Chaos and how, Valkur willing, he will make his own.. Luthors general popularity within the colony grew that night.

Arjhan settled in with the calmer patrons. Within his proximity were well mannered working class older men proficient in various tradecrafts. They welcomed his company and invited the reptile to share his opinion. There was much discussion as the Colonists Arjhan found himself around had clearly seen a thing or two and, although they were curious about their green reptilian guest, were much less invasive in their questioning. Arjhan made sincere connections with quite a few Colonists before the parties end.

Initially shy, Tarukka soon realises he cannot escape the attention. While he's awkward in the company, everything is forgiven due to his novelty. And it was a novelty for him too, glances are more interested than hostile, no one wishes to banish him or kill him. He didn't feel this good since he left the elves. He even lets others examine the horns and teeth, stare at his eyes or touch his skin. But his inexperience with the parties show as he imbibes too many too quickly. His intellect, usually sharper than his blades catches up with his constitution a bit too late and Tarukka is happily drunk by the time the party is over.

Luckily for him, people at the frontier are no shining examples of courtly manners and he's not alone in this.

Arjhan was more than happy to discuss the goings on in the colony with the other guests. Someone gave him a goblet of wine, but he declined, opting instead for a local sparkling water. No sense in tempting Besaba. and falling down that hole again. He shared freely about himself and his homeland, though was more reticent about what brought him west, only that he had been hired to chart maps for the colony.

When the evening wound down, Arjhan was grateful to be able to collapse into a soft bed for the first time in weeks.

I plan on living forever. Or die trying.
Luthor enjoys the evening and tries to talk to all present for at least little while. While contacts as such are useful, his police training also pushes him to gauge everyone he talks with for potential trouble. Here are powerful colony people, knowing who plots what and who's got the good of the colony in mind is useful knowledge. But most of all, he enjoys the freedom of movement and company of people not of the ship.

The itch will soon return, to return to the wild seas, but for the moment, he spreads High Captains word on solid ground.

Ramas spends most of the evening gazing into the distance beside Kunka. He ponders what his next move is, first he needs land or does he need to prove himself first?
