OSR A new Revised & Expanded edition of Labyrinth Lord is out

It released on Drive-Thru RPG earlier today.

I don't have it, but wanted to share nonetheless. From looking at the preview and product blurb, the things that stand out the most to me are the classes. There's no Thief, but there is a Burglar, which may be a renamed version. There's no Halflings, but there are Cyclopes, Brownies, and Hobfolk. The description also says that the Revised & Expanded version has new monsters as well as an adventure.

While the RPG was a trendsetter during the birth of the OSR, it will be hard for Labyrinth Lord to compete with the variety of games out there already. But I'm nonetheless glad to see such RPGs still getting support, like with Swords & Wizardry's 2023 revision.

I do like, now that no one is worried that retroclones are required to make sure this sort of gameplay doesn't vanish into an IP black hole, that each of these games is leaning more into being their own thing.

At least one of the big ones (OSE Classic) is going away, so this new edition of Labyrinth Lord may yet find an audience.

Paul Kidd is credited with writing the included adventure. Darn, wasn't planning on getting a newer edition of LL. But I'm a big fan of Paul Kidd, the preview looks good and the price is affordable.
