A Problem of Nobility or Things that go Bump in the Night (Covaithe Judging)

Carolina spins on her heels as she pulls her dagger and swipes at the new cloaked figure. Clearly rattled, she backpedals deeper into the room.

[sblock=Actions]Minor: Draw dagger; Standard: Attack creepy cloaked backstabber guy: 1d20+9=13, 1d4+8=10. Clearly a miss; Move: shift to E4[/sblock]

Georg looks around blindly and calls out to his allies Stay where you were, so I don't burn you! He moves into the cold aura with a grunt, through the square occupied by the dead cloak and reaches out towards the wall. He then lifts his staff and chants an incantation. Fire spews ahead and along the wall, catching only those furthest back in the room. He rubs his eyes and can't seem to clear them. I'm at the back wall. Call out when you move!

[sblock=OOC]Georg moves 2 squares through the difficult terrain to A3. Unless it is possible to move into A4 along the casks. He takes 5 damage (now at 26/31) and then casts Burning Hands as a close burst along the wall. Rules question here, it says I can choose to make the blast adjacent to my square, does that mean I can place it with most of the area just hitting the wall and back corner? I want to only hit A2, A1, A0.
Burning Hands 1d20+4=20 (reflex) 2d6+4=14 (fire)
There are no penalties for concealment to close burst attacks
Saving Throw 1d20=7
Still blind

[sblock=OOC]
So both Grim's attacks will hit, even with the blindness, bloddying the Cloak 1 foe.

Georg might hit, need to check something.

Carolina misses.

Raiyek falls unconscious and is dying (death save please)

Xoc's up!

I am usually online, so I'll usually see the posts (as long as it's within 8:30 am - 5pm Mon-Fri EST when I'm at work). You beat me by 3 minutes ;)

Raiyek slumps back against the wall and slides to the floor, unconscious.
[sblock=OOC]Death Save (1d20=14). Seems I'm OK for now.

I just wanted to add a comment on putting your stat block in your signature, as well. It does work well enough for seeing what the current situation is, but I personally prefer pasting your stat block at the bottom of each combat post. The reason for this is that you can go back and see how things changed over the course of the fight, whereas changing your signature changes it on all your old posts as well, so you can't tell what the situation was at the time of a given post. Usually it's just for interest's sake, but sometimes it can be useful for checking math on damage taken/healed and that sort of thing.

Also, if/when you make a 2nd character, I'm not sure the character limit (as in, letter/number/symbol etc...) on your sig is high enough to have two full stat blocks in it ;)[/sblock][sblock=Raiyek stats]Raiyek Meliam - Male Elf Paladin (Palladys) 2

Xoc looks over at Raiyek. "Don't let them fell you so quickly - that's little more than a scrape! Get back up and fight, while I help our rogue with the new intruder."

[sblock=OOC]
Minor: Use Inspiring Word on Raiyek, who regains surge+1 hp
Inspiring Word - additional healing (1d6=1)

Move: Move to E5

Standard: Use Viper's Strike on Cloak 2 (If it shifts before the start of my next turn, Carolina gets a free OA).
Attack and Damage Rolls for Viper's Strike, including concealment penalty from blindness. (1d20+1=15, 1d10+4=14) - hits AC 15 for 14 damage.

edit: ack, last night when I wrote this, totally forgot to save vs blindness. Save vs. Blindness (1d20=12)

Oops, thanks. I checked my roll on invisible castle to make sure I didn't make the same mistake. The roll was based on 1d20+8-5.

I should reroll ;)

I'll edit the post now
