A problem with Adventure Paths/Campaign Sagas/etc...

Hmmm, this might be an appropriate thread to get an answer about how others feel about something I think would be really cool.

What if a story arc were to only include 5 adventures but cover levels 1 - 20. Now here's how it would work.

Adv 1: 1 - 3 level
Adv 2: 5 - 7 level
Adv 3: 10 - 12 level
Adv 4: 15 - 17 level
Adv 5: 20th level

The missing levels 4, 8, 9, 13, 14, 18, 19 the GM gets to cover with mini-adventures or homebrew.

Would ppl here be interested in something like this. I'm asking because I personally like to design my own adventures, it's one of the greatest parts of DMing so I don't want to run a story arc that runs straight through the entire campaign, but something like this would give me plenty of time to flesh out my adventures to fill in the gaps.

Yes, Savage Tide is going to be 12 parts, and will go all the way up to level 20.

This may or may not be the case for Adventure Path 4.

Really? Cause I was hoping it might be. Oh well. Just promise me some dragon loving on AP 4 or 5.

Glass,

Then play something else! :p There are plenty of better modules from companies that can make a decent plot AND still have you fighting stuff. Like Coils of Set for starts.

*thinks thinking is over-rated* Besides it's not like I told you, the group fights Tiamat. ;)

Psion,

You and Banewarrens man...oh well can't fault your taste. (Not that I am just saying it seems like every 10 posts you're ranting about it. But then it's the pot calling the kettle something eh?)

Hmm, considering I'm not running it, that's not really an option. Just use common sense next time before posting spoilers.

Bah common sense is over-rated. Couresty perhaps but the point is people will say things and you either a) block it out or b) encourage your DM to try something else.

MAN WHAT?

Tell me you are trying to be ironic or something. Cause... lessee the last time I talked about Banewarrens...

Search user Psion, words: Banewarrens, show posts reveals:

Yesterday's post above

prior to that:
6-02-6: Regarding Ptolus, wherein I note the cover reuse in the World of Praemal doc. Not exactly pulling it in obliquely.

prior to that:
7-20-05. Yep. over a year ago. Responding to Voadam talking about how he tied Lord of the Iron Fortress to Banewarrens.

prior to that:
6-01-05, responding to a thread by Glyfair asking how we used adventures, in which I comment that I add Banewarrens to an existing under-city complex.

Continuing the search will reveal more non startling posts by me. Do I think Banewarrens has a good approach to campaign adaptability? Sure. Do I hammer on it every chance I get? It's been some time, I'm afraid.

Nightfall, for being a difficult poster who gives other people a hard time, I'd like to offer you a chance to read the adventures in the WotBS campaign saga before they're released. Interested?

Depends.

Can I offer you guys insight on what monsters might be useful? Like maybe a few SL monsters here, a few ToH monsters there...

Things like that?
