A question about Weapon Pluses

Okay, so lets say you have a Holy Quarterstaff. The "Holy" weapon feature is equivalent to a +2 bonus. So, does that mean that the weapon acts as a normal + 2 weapon in addition to its extra damage against evil? or does it just do its extra damage against evil creatures and does not give a + 2 bonus to attack and damage?

1 - A Weapon must be at least '+1' to have the Holy property. (By RAW)
2 - The Holy property is a +2 equivalent bonus for determining the market value of the weapon. It does not add +2 to the enhancement bonus. This means the weapon counts as +2 higher for determining it's value and cost to create, etc. (So a +1 Holy weapon is still only +1, but costs as much as a +3 weapon to make and buy)

Except, of course, when fighting evil opponents, when it gains +2 to hit and damage, and adds 2d6 extra damage (making it effectively +3 to hit and +2d6+3 to damage).

Huh? It only says that it does an extra 2d6 damage aganist evil opponents, but it does not mention the +3 to attack and damage.

Does it not help overcome DR/epic?

Nope.

And Holy only gives +2d6 damage, it doesn't give a set attack/damage bonus against evil opponents. He's confusing it with Bane weapons, I think.
