A question of the Battlesmith

I apologize if this has come up before. I looked but could not find anything on the PrC in question.

So has anyone had any experience with the Battlesmith PrC? My dwarven Ranger/Fighter is about ready to level up and the PrC has caught my interest. So thoughts and comments are welcome.

I thought about it for my dwarf fighter, but I am going with another prestige class over it. I do like how easy it makes crafting magical weapons though. Very tempting.

to get into the class you need:

to be a Dwarf
BAB +5
Craft (armor smithing or weaponsmithing) 10 ranks
armor Pro Heavy
Endurance
WF Warhammer
must create dwarven craft weapon (they are also in the book) and used it in battle

Correct, it is only a 5 level prestige class though

Thanks for the heads up. Definately something to look into a little more.

A character I run just picked up a level in it, though he hasn't seen play time since he got the level (Dwarf Paladin 8/Hammer of Moradin 4/Battlesmith 1). It's really nice due to the Wisdom modifier bonus to warhammer damage, but the free craft feat is excellent too.

Just keep in mind that your character needs the proper spells prepared if you're enchanting an item with anything more than an enhancement bonus--my dwarf is getting help from the party wizard and an NPC cleric to enchant his hammer the way he wants it.
