A quick question. Suggestions are welcome!

Alright so I am playing a 3.5 game with some of my buddies and here Is what I got going on...

I have a Barbarian level 9 Woodelf, and I should have done my homework and multi-classed before I leveled to 9, anyways I don't want to make that mistake again. So this is what I am thinking about doing when I level(s), if you have any suggestions let me know. Thanks.

1/Fighter - Power attack
1/Sorc - (spells) True Strike & Mage Armor

Why mage armor? When I pop rage, instead of -2 from my actual score I will pop mage armor and still be +2 above, and following up afterward with the -2 to str and dex, it should provide somewhat of a shield since I wont be hitting as hard due to fatigue.

Now here is my question, When I pop True strike, will that threaten for a Crit or is it just +20 to my attack role?

If you have any other suggestions let me know. I am still trying to figure out a way around the fatigue, if you can think of something that would be nice too. Thanks.

you just have a +20 bonus to your first attack roll

also you are a 9th level barbarian and you don't have power attack? why have you done this to yourself?:P
i recommend to take some fighter levels to get asap the feats you missed.

what feats do you have now?

for the fatigue problem, a common trick is one level of horizon walker choosing desert terrain mastery.

haha! I know, what is wrong with me! I am going to see if I can talk to my DM and see if we can work something out before tomorrows game. Anyways, I have dodge and one other, but I cant think of it off hand.

Note that you cannot cast when you are in rage, therefore you have to cast those spells before you rage!

Yeah, I know that. So even if True strike was considered a Confirm crit attack, it wouldn't do me any good while in rage, but the idea of using mage armor would still be considered a very nice combination considering that it will be casted before rage.

note that the bonus given by mage armor will not stack with your armor. i think it's better to get a good armor than multiclass to sorcerer

AHH! I was afraid of that. Alright never mind then. Multi-classing a Sorc is out of the question....*sigh* and here I though I was soo smart too.

there are still several other options, like Shield (I am assuming you won't wear one and fight two-handed) or Shieldbearer, spells that give bonusses to Natural Armor, spells like Enlarge, Bull Strength, etc.

And there's the Rage Mage prc (from complete warrior) that allows you to cast while in a rage.

Don't dismiss the concept because of the misunderstanding about one spell. There's still a whole world of options open. It might just take a little more research....
