A request for a custom epic spell that grants eternal youth

The Player with the PC with the Wishsong:

I wish my abilities improved ... (makes a broken record sound ... chunk)
I wish my abilities improved ... (chunk)
I wish my abilities improved ... (chunk)
I wish my abilities improved ... (chunk)
I wish my abilities improved ... (chunk)
I wish my abilities improved ... (chunk)
I wish my abilities ...

The DM:

(takes character sheet, crumbles character sheet, burns character sheet, tramples on ashes of character sheet, scatters ashes of character sheet, thumps player in head to start brain working again)

Ok, but I will wait, and see if someone can create that Immortality spell.
I still think it can be done.
This is the board where it was successfully (SUCCESSFULLY) argued that a housecat could kill an armed and armored Commoner (I seem to recall that housecat could actually take on some of the character classes, too.)
If they can argue that successfully, they can create my Immortality spell. For under 100 DC.

That sounds like a challenge... Stand aside, mortals, and let the master have a crack at it. *cracks knuckles*

Fountain of Youth
Abjuration
DC: 70
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 10 days
Range: Touch
Target: Creature touched
Saving Throw: Fort negates (harmless)
Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)
To Develop: 360,000 gp; 8 days; 14,400 XP
Seeds: Ward (against aging) (DC 14), Transform (for youthful appearance) (DC 21). Factors: Render subject immune to the passage of time (+18); render subject immune to aging effects (+18); permanent (x5). Mitigating Factors: Increase casting time by 10 minutes (-20) and 10 days (-20); 15 additional casters contributing a 7th level spell slot (-195); burn 5,000 XP (-50).

This spell, when cast, alters the subject's appearance so that he appears youthful and healthy (anywhere between 17-35 for humans, or an equivalent age for other races). The subject is rendered immune to all forms of aging, both natural and magical, including the effects of monsters.
Casting this spell requires the participation of 15 additional casters, each of whom must contribute a 7th level slot to the spell.

Kerrick, does this mean those 15 casters permanently lose the 7th level slot? Or is this loss temporary?
No just a spell per day. Sorta like just giving a bit of magical energy to take the load off of the main caster. No permanent effects for the contributors.

The College of Eternal Youth?

Ok, here is your spell, Kerrick, with some adjustments:

ETERNAL YOUTH (Epic Spell)
Abjuration
DC: 40
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 10 minutes
Range: Touch
Target: Creature touched
Saving Throw: Fort negates (harmless)
Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)
To Develop: 360,000 gp; 8 days; 14,400 XP
Seeds: Ward (against aging) (DC 14), Transform (for youthful appearance) (DC 21). Factors: Render subject immune to the passage of time (+18); render subject immune to aging effects (+18); permanent (x5). Mitigating Factors: Increase casting time by 10 minutes (-20); 15 additional casters contributing a 7th level spell slot (-195); burn 10,000 XP (-100).

This version of the spell could be cast by a 30th level wizard, assuming he had the help of those 15 additional casters.
The casting time of 10 minutes would make it more feasible to actually cast the spell, too.

In an epic world, where a great college of wizardry existed, I would not find it too hard to accept a college where 15 wizards of 13th level or higher existed.
And since they are sharing magical knowledge anyways (normally unthinkable for wizards, but colleges are the exception) it is not too hard to imagine they would combine their powers to grant immortality to one of their own.
And if the 30th level wizard could grant immortality to himself, why not grant it to everyone else who helped him? They would likely ask for this - or for some favor - in return for helping the high mage.

Thus, we have created the College of Eternal Youth! :D

MY Eternal Youth

The Eternal Youth True Ritual in "Relics & Rituals II" meets all of your requirements, is easier to cast than an epic spell...and I designed it.

Forsaken One ... worry. Worry alot. :D

Liquid Snake, I'll look that up.
Heh, but I was trying to figure out how to create eternal youth using WOTC's core rules.
After all, if the core rules allow for eternal youth, then I would think we'd be seeing a lot of that in magically rich worlds like Toril.

You see, it's a matter of: if it can be done, somebody will do it.
Man is famous for this IRL. Space shots to the moon. Telescopes that can see other planets. Plasma bottles at one hundred million degrees. Supersonic aircraft. High explosives. The internet. The Northwest Passage. The Price Is Right (it's been going on 40 years!)
And so, there is little question that the ruthless and willful people of the Forgotten Realms will do whatever is possible, within the rules that define their world. Or the people of Oerth. Or Aebrinis. Or Krynn. Or Athas. Or any other world where humanity schemes and plots (the dieties won't stop it, since the dieties are an active part of the scheming.)

Thus, if Kerrick can create an Eternal Youth spell using the core rules, I am betting that it has been created on Toril.
I am betting it has been created, and that it has been used, and that it is going to continue to be used.

Of course, the spread of immortality across Toril is going to have consequences.

:) nicely done, yeah, about anything can be done using core rules, but the problem I was having was doing it without Ad Hoc'ing the cost for everything.

I'm afraid, btw, of what Edena's up to ;)
