A Simple Errand (DM:renau1g, Judge: covaithe)

[sblock=OOC] Could I get a map update? I'm not quite sure were dorn's effect is and it would be helpful (to me at least) to see where everyone is at. Also, is it Crag's turn, or Jax's turn? I'm not sure what the init order is since Jax delayed...[/sblock]

Mid-Round Update...

With Rrek surrounded by the frog-like creatures, Dorn's next move is clear. He steps toe to toe with the brave swordmage and summons waves of rolling flames, bathing one of the beasts with fiery death.

Dorn instinctively waves his hands in a quick circle, hoping to somehow protect Rrek (and himself). A huge, strangely unsettling fog appears to emanate from Dorn, covering the two allies and the nearest frog in an obscuring darkness.

"Wow - that's never happened before.." he marvels.

Ingot follows Dorn's lead, advancing to the aid of the fallen gith, its path taking it in range of the angry twitcher. The frogman's eyes are clouded by the sorcerer's effect and its javelin is far from penetrating the warforged's plating. Ingot hacks at the frog man, but misses badly.

[sblock=OA]
1d20 6=17, 1d6 3=8, miss even before the concealment

It looks down at Rrek who lies bleeding on the ground. "Rrek, do you require repair at this time?" the priest inquires politely.

[sblock=ooc]Just if it wasn't clear, I'd like keep my turn "open" to go back and use Healing Word on Rrek, if Reklaw says he wants it. Is that okay, ren?[/sblock]

"What was that!? Stomach Acid? Keep trying rubber head!"

Crag swings his sword in an arc above his head before bringing it down upon the foe in front of him. Once again, a flurry of greenish brown floor slop converges on Crag's form and hardens.

"Thank you Terra. Your servant is pleased that he makes you proud!"

Seeing the other frog-creature getting near, Crag takes a few steps past his initial foe to get in between the two creatures. Calling on Terra, Crag summons a thin ledge of rock, surrounding himself and the two bullywugs.

"Hey, stink breath, you wanna play too?"

[sblock=Actions]
- Standard action: Earth Shield Strength vs. Twitch 47 hits for 11 damage and grants Crag a +1 power bonus to AC until the end of his next turn.
- Move: Move to L-10, accepting the Attack of Opportunity from the Twitch. (R1: Remember that Crag has AC 22 and 5 Temp HP as of this moment)
- Free Action: Mark Twitch 47 and Mucker 62 until the end of Crag's next turn.
[/sblock]
[sblock=Crag's Stats] Crag - Warforged Warden 2
Passive Perception 16, Passive Insight 11
AC 22, Fort 17, Reflex 13, Will 13
HP 42/49 + 5 THP, Bloodied 24, Surge Value 12, Surges 14/14
Speed 6, Initiative +1
Action Points: 1, Second Wind
At-Will Powers: Warden's Fury, Warden's Grasp, Strength of Stone, Earth Shield Strike
Encounter Powers: Hungry Earth, Warforged Resolve
Daily Powers: Form of the Winter's Herald (Form of the Winter's Herald Attack)

Note on Warden's Fury and Warden's Grasp:

Warden's Fury gives me a free attack against any of my marked foes adjacent to me that attack any of my allies (as an Immediate Interupt). If it hits, it does my normal basic attack damage, but it also makes the target grant combat advantage until the end of my next turn.

Warden's Grasp lets me slide any of my marked foes within 5 squares of me that attack any of my allies. The slide is one square and it also slows them and doesn't allow them to shift until the end of it's turn (this is an Immediate Reaction). [/sblock]

[sblock=Assume...]That Jax is still waiting on me and Crag?[/sblock]Slightly disoriented by the darkness he is now engulfed in Rrek hestitates to answer Ingot.

"I.. No, I need no healing." He says this as he pulls himself into a standing position, feeling a little worse off. Perhaps a broken rib or at least bruised rib.

Summoning his magic once again he brings his sword to a guard position and slashes at the injured Mucker, intent on finishing him off.

His blade strikes true, the rippling thunder once again wounding another foe. The frog-like creature quivers but still lives.

[sblock=Action]Move(or is it minor?) - Stand up
Minor - Mark the twitcher
Booming blade attack on the wounded Mucker - [5,8] = (13)
Damage - [1,5] = (6)
[/sblock]

[sblock=Ingot]Thanks for the offer, might end up needing that but will try and live without the penalty to attack, especially with these low rolls![/sblock]

[sblock=Rrek]Oops, sorry, I think I confused you!

You already have a -4 to your attack rolls thanks to the twitcher hitting you... this is what renau1g posted:

"Twitch 80 attacks Rrek - vs ac; dmg (1d20 9=25, 2d6 3=8) hit for 8 and you take -4 penalty to attack rolls TENT"

The healing in the aura thing is different. If you spend a surge in the aura, you get weakened. That means you do half damage.

So unfortunately I don't think your attack is going to hit, because you still have that -4.

Here is what I was thinking:

Option A: Ingot heals you, triggering the weakness effect. Then you can attack, but you'll be at -4 to hit, and also weakened (doing half damage).

Option B: Ingot doesn't heal you. Instead, you use your second wind, enabling you to spend a healing surge. You do that instead of attacking. You'll still be weakened for spending the surge, until the end of your next turn, but you'd also get a +2 to all defenses due to the second wind. (Since you already had the -4 anyway, it seemed to make sense to trade the attack for the second wind. ) (You could still mark the twitcher too.)

Water under the bridge now, I suppose. I'm sorry, I feel bad that my post wasn't clear and confused you. :([/sblock]

[sblock=ooc/reklaw]It's not that I'm waiting for anyone else to post at the moment, rather that I haven't checked the board for a few hours.[/sblock]

[sblock=crag]I don't suppose you could use your as-of-yet-unused move action to go somewhere a bit north? Either a 5ft step north, or moving to around L10 (it provokes an OA, but it's a better position). If Jax tries to flank with you where you are now, he's going to get the snot beat out of him again.[/sblock]

Jax looks around the battlefield in an attempt to find a hole in the enemy's line, but nothing immediately stands out. He says to the warden, "Think you can... move around a bit? Circle-strafe the frog?"

[sblock=JAX & Tactics] I thought about that myself, but there's one problem with that idea. If I move away from you, then enemies can Shift-charge you. Unlike the FIGHTER class, the Warden does not prevent people from moving away from him. I only get free Op attacks against enemies if the enemy is adjacent to me when it attacks, with there being ample space for it to get around me, moving north would not be a good idea in that respect, and you could end up getting the snot beat out of you anyways.

That being said, I'm always willing to take a hit for the team if you truly believe it will help.

Let me know what you think and I'll edit my post so that I have moved north a bit and marked both creatures. [/sblock]

[sblock=Ingot]Whoops, good call. Not your fault I got confused, happens easily sometimes;) Feel bad editing my post to cover my mistake though, so I'm just going to edit a miss in there, I remember the -4 now. Forgot about it when I made my roll though.[/sblock]

[sblock=Jax]No worries, just didn't want to be posting out of turn, thanks![/sblock]
