Meepo didn't take hanging from the wall lying down, whatever that would mean. When neither his own weight nor Ingot pulling at him worked, he concocted a new plan. He began to pull himself up the whip when the dwarf fired a shot that made him lose his grip. He caught himself by the loop of the handle and and gave his best draconic roar. With the fury of his ancestor he scaled the wall, landing on all fours in front of the dwarf, his dagger clutched in his teeth.

"You're mine, stupid stoneface."

Dorn walks right up to one of the guards battling with Crag, plunging him in darkness. "I'm not so tough as Crag here," he says. "But I do have some talents."

"Would you care for a demonstration?
" he quips in his best shop-keeper voice. He raises his left hand, and an enormous wave of flame reaches out from inside the darkness of his shroud. (Move to G9. Sustain shroud. Burning spray against reflex - 20 vs guard60, 11 vs guard 93. 14 fire damage, (assuming that hit guard60)).

"The dwarf has tied himself to the wall there," Ingot calls out. "We'll have to blast him down." Shifting its attention to ground level, it sees the blood streaming from Jax's scaled hide. "Vulkar, once again I beseech your aid for my companion Jax," it prays quickly, and healing energy refreshes the kobold. Next it takes a few long strides and wades into the rubble where one of the gnomes lurks. Its chest-mounted holy symbol rotates a half turn and radiant energy envelops its blade. But the swing passes harmlessly over the gnome's head.

Seeing his foes shift their focus over towards Jax, Crag swung his blade around him in a threatening manner, hoping to keep the guards distracted enough for Jax to get out of reach. Although the ice that Dorn threw out at him and the guards gunked up some of his joints, when a couple of the guards took a threatening step towards the kobold, Crag stepped in between two of them and stabbed southward, piercing the guards armor and inflicting a minor wound. The metal chassis protecting Crag's organic innards became infused with the strength of the ground beneath his feet and he silently thanked the spirits of the earth for their assistance.

"Jax, you can't just stand there and get pounded on, like me! Thank you for helping, but I can handle it from here!"

[sblock=Meepo]
You see that the dwarf is actually strapped onto the wall with some leather straps! [/sblock]

Jax's crossbow bolt wounds begin to mend with the help of Ingot's deity. Now feeling almost a second wind of bravery, Jax stabs wildly at Crag's human target until he hits something soft. Then, he bravely runs away into the treeline. His blade drops the injured guard.

The thick bushes give way under Jax's weight surprisingly easily, leaving an obvious trail as to where he went.

The dwarf presses a latch on his straps and then rappels down the far side of the wall, "I'll be gettin' ya later kobold!" as he drops to the ground, running towards the entrance of the cavern.

The gnomes focus on Ingot, drawing heavy picks and one of them slams the weapon into the warforged, the other slips on the rubble and nearly falls.

The guard in the shroud stumbles through the darkness and sees the cleric's exposed back. His weapon glances off the armored plating though.

The warrior facing Crag tries his luck, but the blow is easily deflected by the heavy shield. The man's face blanches at the ineffectiveness of his swing as he steps away from Crag.

Ingot whirls to face the guard and swings its blade. The edge catches the guard across the neck, spraying acid as it slashes. The warforged steps through the gap in the wall, facing the gnomes, drawing on its reserves to heal its damage.

[sblock=Actions]Standard: Righteous Brand vs. Guard (1d20+9=29, 1d12+5=6) Crit! I guess I keep the original d12 roll (of 1 :() for the High Crit property. Plus bonus acid damage (1d6=2) the total is 20 damage. If the guard is still alive, grant +4 on melee attacks vs. this guy to Crag. (I'm assuming Meepo won't make it down into melee this round.)

(Man, the contrast between how IC treats Ingot and Hergunna is amazing. Poor Hergunna.)

That bloodies the guard[/sblock]
[sblock=ooc]Oh - I thought he was already bloodied? I thought that's what the red square on his token meant... I guess it actually means he's marked by Crag?

Well, I might have done something slightly different, but no big deal. At least Crag might actually find that +4 to hit of use. :)[/sblock]

Seeing a chance to engulf yet more enemies in flame, Dorn's shadowy form steps through the opening in the wall and conjures fire in the midst of the gnomes. (Opp attack vs guard misses. Move to F12. Sustain shroud. Burning spray vs REF hits gnome11 reflex 18 for 10 fire damage (misses other gnome I assume with roll of 11)).

Jax reemerges from his "hiding place" and flanks the guard with Crag. Once in position, he lunges at the guard as if thrusting with a rapier. Of course, the much shorter dagger that Jax carries does not perform so well with that motion. The blade falls far short of the man's back. Jax leans forward more and more until he practically falls onto the guard, dagger-first. It is only sheer luck that the dagger hits its mark.

[sblock=actions/stats]Move: walk to F6.
Standard: Sly Lunge vs Guard 93 hits AC 15 for 25 damage. I rolled a 2 and it still hit. I love Jax. :cool:
Minor: if the guard is dead, shifty to G7. Otherwise, Jax stays put.
