A Simple Errand (DM:renau1g, Judge: covaithe)

[sblock=actions]
OA: Whip Attack (1d20+6-2=11)
move: Acrobatics (1d20+1=12), going down the way the dwarf did to L12. If I fail the maneuver, I'd rather fall in L12 and take damage than stay on the wall.
minor: Shifty to k12
standard: Commander's Strike having Ingot attack Ingot attack guard (1d20+9=13, 1d12+5=7)
[/sblock]

"Hey, not so fast," Meepo calls as the Dwarf turns to run. He pulled his arm back, freeing the coiled whip from the Dwarf's legs and lashed out at him again, but the dwarf had jumped off the wall too quickly.

Meepo tumbled down the wall after him.

Seeing Ingot's very effective attack putting his foe off guard, and seeing Jax take care of his light work, Crag decides to abandon his current post in favor of a sure thing. The mountainous warforged steps quickly to the enemy in front of the gap in the wall and leaps in the air. Landing with a thunderous retort, the ground beneath the guard trembles, wavers, and then liquefies into quicksand. Pulling the guard into the ground, it flails about in confusion for a moment before finding himself sucked half way into the ground. Suddenly the ground solidifies, trapping the guard in the ground for the time being. Holding his sword so that it pointed at the guard's throat, Crag was ready if the guard wanted to try something stupid. Giving his team members a sly jaw hinge tweak, he shouts out to them.

"We have an easy target over here, you guys! Come and take a shot!"

Ingot whirls to face the guard and swings its blade. The edge catches the guard across the neck, spraying acid as it slashes. The warforged steps through the gap in the wall, facing the gnomes, drawing on its reserves to heal its damage.

Seeing a chance to engulf yet more enemies in flame, Dorn's shadowy form steps through the opening in the wall and conjures fire in the midst of the gnomes. The gnome closest to Dorn is burnt, but he disappears from sight.

Gnome 87 uses fade away[/sblock]

Jax reemerges from his "hiding place" and flanks the guard with Crag. Once in position, he lunges at the guard as if thrusting with a rapier. Of course, the much shorter dagger that Jax carries does not perform so well with that motion. The blade falls far short of the man's back. Jax leans forward more and more until he practically falls onto the guard, dagger-first. It is only sheer luck that the dagger hits its mark.

How did you get CA on him for your SA? I'll go with it as is, but not seeing it [/sblock]

You take falling (1d6=1) 1 point of damage, but you're prone so you can shifty. You could've "fell" in K12 so no big deal though.

Meepo tumbled down the wall after him, and somehow the lucky kobold avoids the worst of the fall. His antics distract the nearest gnome, but Ingot fails to capitalize on it as the gnome dodges at the last minute.

You weren't adjacent to Guard 93, he had shifted away so even if he was still alive you couldn't mark him. No big deal though as Jax killed him (or even if he didn't die he was surrendering here)[/sblock]

The invisible gnome appears to have fled as he doesn't reveal himself and the dwarf has continued to run at full speed into the caves, beyond your sight. The remaining gnome drops his pick, "Well, ya got me" he says with a shrug.

Please see below for final stats and advise if they differ from your tracking. Combat is over...for now

Ending Status:

Initiative:
Jax - 20/33 - used 2 surges,
Bad Guys
Ingot - 20/37+4thp <- you're up
Dorn
Crag - 48/56+5thp - used 2 surges
Meepo - 16/27 - prone

enemies; dorn; crag; ingot; jax; meepo (1d20+5=23, 1d20+10=13, 1d20+3=12, 1d20+2=20, 1d20+7=24, 1d20+4=11)[/sblock]

[sblock=R1]CA came from flanking with Crag. According to the map, Jax was at F6, the guard at G6, and Crag at H6.

Attack: +13 = 4 dex + 3 prof. + 1 magic dagger + 1 weapon talent + 1 level + 2 CA + 1 nimble blade
Damage: 1d4 + 2d8 + 12 = 1d4 dagger + 4 dex + 1 magic dagger + 3 str (encounter power) + 1 item (goblin totem) + 2d8+3 sneak attack (from brutal scoundrel and backstabber).[/sblock]

Ahh...sorry Crag and Jax, I didn't upload the final version of the map apparently. The guard was supposed to shift away from Crag... ah well. That's my bad [/sblock]

[sblock=r1] No prob, everything would have gone as I wanted anyway, and i was going to simply accept an Op attack even had the guard been there and stayed alive. Also, as far as my stats are concerned, you have my HP and surges listed correctly. At the end of the encounter, however, I lose my temp HP, so you can ignore the +5 temp HP Crag had. [/sblock]

Meepo dusts himself off, and with a wide smile plastered on his face walks over to his buddies. "That was quite an adventure. I think our wizarding friend will appreciate our efforts and will reward us greatly. We might even get a hat. I think our actions will live in the memory of all folks from all realms for all time." Glowing from his sense of accomplishment, Meepo seemed oblivious to his injuries. "So, shall we return home now. Jax, would you care to show me that nice warm alleyway?"

[sblock=ooc]I might not have a chance to post much until the 16th. If anything important happens, Meepo follows along, and does his best to be kobold-brave.

Also, Inspiring word on self, Self healing (1d6=3) so I'm up to 26 hp.

So, you taking a short rest? Also, you have the gnome prisoner and the dwarf ran in the cave. Your guide is in the bushes back where you came into the area [/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]Ingot has one more healing word left before resting. Maybe it should use it on itself? (being down the most HP)

I do think we probably want to take a short rest, the question is if we should take more than one in order to get extra healing. I'm leaning towards no.
[/sblock]

Ingot does not sheathe its blade nor turn away from the surrendered foes. "Jax - why don't you go check that our guide is still safe, and bring him here."
