Yes, that's why I said it was an oversight. Because unlike similiar spells, it doesn't say:
This spell functions like name of spell, except that...
Instead it states:
This spell causes a single creature to become confused for 1 round. See the confusion spell, above, to determine the exact effect on the subject.
So technically, it doesn't assume any attributes of the confusion spell; you just look at that spell to see the exact effects of being confused. I seriously doubt it's intentional, though, especially given the lack of a spell resistance entry.

The SRD and 1st printing both have the DF for the bard only spell, while the Special edition does not.

This is getting redundently obscene :heh:

Yip. It does require a save. I've always found spells in wands that require saves are just not great because the DCs are so low. DC 11 for a 1st level spell is just too easy to get around.
