Just wanted to get some thoughts on a couple of creatures that I put together. I'm mostly curious about your thoughts on balance and possible LA/CR. This is the first time I've ever tried to create my own races, not sure exactly what all to consider when determining the best LA for a player character.
L.U.G.
(Laborer and Universal Guardian)A race created by the Academy for Arcana and Alchemy, Research Division. Specifically designed as servants to aid in the “clean-up” after the many “accidents” that occurred during the research process. The development of new recipes and new spells is a long and trying and dangerous process. Destruction of the facility was a regular occurrence and the L.U.G.'s were around to clear away the debris as well as any other heavy lifting that needed doing.

Clanora
(Holy Servant)
A race created by the Academy for Arcana and Alchemy, Research Division. Specifically designed as servants to aid in the everyday activities and assist in “clean-up” after the many “accidents” that occurred during the research process. The development of new recipes and new spells is a long and trying and dangerous process. The Clanora were built for beauty and healing. Beauty, for who wants to look at an ugly servant. Healing, because it was needed in abundance. After the destruction of the compound (no one who knew why it happened survived the explosion) only the servants quarters held any living creatures.(Holy Servant)
- Magical Humanoid (A Clanora will emit a faint aura when view under the effects of the Detect Magic spell)
- -4 STR, -2 CON, +2 WIS, +4 CHR
- Medium size
- Base speed is 50 feet.

A Clanora need only look at an individual to see their needs, be they food, drink, rest or just someone to talk to. A Clanora may make a search check to determine the specifics of how they can best serve the individual. (this is effectively a telepathic search for information, but less invasive)[/FONT]
- [FONT=Times New Roman, serif]Innate Healer (Ex): Clanora have a natural ability designed into their creation for healing. When she casts any spell of the Healing type, she adds an additional +10% to the total. (This is applied after and includes any other abilities or metamagic feats that are applied)[/FONT]
- [FONT=Times New Roman, serif]Pacifists (Ex): The Clanora know that war and battle exist in the world and will do all in their power to aid the injured—any injured. Every member of their race is expected to never take the life of another, excepting only Undead, who do not truly live, and Outsiders, who do not belong. It is acceptable to travel with adventurers, to heal and aid as much as possible. However, each Clanora must choose on their own just how far they will take this commitment.[/FONT]

Grislac
(Hand Helper)
A race created by the Academy for Arcana and Alchemy, Research Division. In reality, a failed experiment as the intention was to create a being with superior Arcane abilities. Instead the excess arcane power forced into the Grislac bodies interferes with their own spellcasting abilities. But the Clanora found humor in these absentminded creatures, so the researcher scientists utilized the Grislac's memory retention capabilities, inadvertently creating the perfect research assistants.(Hand Helper)
- Magical Humanoid (A Grislac will emit a faint aura when view under the effects of the Detect Magic spell)
- -4 STR, +6 INT, +2 WIS
- Small size: She gains a +1 size bonus to AC and attacks and a +4 size bonus on Hide checks, as well as all the other normal effects of being Small creatures
- Base speed is 30 feet.
- Low-light vision

- [FONT=Times New Roman, serif]Magically Inept (Su): Due to the excess arcane power flowing through her body there is a chance that arcane spells cast by a Grislac will fail. 25% chance for sorcerers and other natural spellcasters (CHR based), 50% chance for wizards and other self-taught spellcasters (INT based)[/FONT]
- [FONT=Times New Roman, serif]Over-thinking (Ex): Due to their mental capabilities, a Grislac has a tendency to over analyze just about everything if given too much time to think. 25% chance that taking ten causes an automatic failure, 50% chance that taking 20 causes an automatic failure.[/FONT]
- [FONT=Times New Roman, serif]Sixth Sense: Perhaps because of the arcane energy infused into their bodies at the time of creating, perhaps for some other reason, but Grislac have the ability to sense danger. This “tingle”can be caused by impending physical harm or just getting caught by the local guards. +1/ 2 lvls to rolls to avoid sneak attacks, traps, surprise events, etc. [/FONT]

- Power Surge (Su): Increase strength by x2 but become exhausted afterwards, effect lasts for 1 round times ½ your lvl. Usable 1/day.
- Immunity to mind altering effects, poison, sleep effects, critical hits, and sneak attacks.
- Powerful Build: (Races of Stone pg 56)
- Favored Class: Barbarian
- Automatic Languages: Common. Bonus Languages: None
