About Changing Size

Hi

When you change size (through enlarge/reduce or giant size, say) your equipment changes with you, and you can't crush yourself to death by growing in a room that's too small for you.

Is the opposite true? If I swallow enough water to sate my giant sized thirst and then shrink, does the water shrink with me? If so, then does a still living human stuck in my giant sized stomach count as equipment? I don't think so. Using the same rules for expansion applied to reduction I would stay the same giant size until the creature in my stomach was dead. Heh!

On a serious note, I imagine the creature would just be expelled from my stomach without damaging me (although that's a farely bandade solution, and seems a little forced). That's what I'd rule as a DM, anyway. What would you say to a player who wanted to shove some halfling in his mouth and stay giant forever?

"HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! You wanna do WHAT? HA HA HA HA HA HA! No, seriously, let me get this straight..." *wipes the tears from his eyes* "You want to SWALLOW a HALFLING? And keep him ALIVE in your STOMACH so you NEVER revert to medium size again? AAAAAAAAAAAAHA HA HA HA HA HA! Stop it! You're killing me!" *sigh* "Whooo that was a good one, now let's get back to the serious part of our game..."

(I, btw, mean no offense by this enactment of my probable response to such a query)

First of all, I'm pretty sure there's no official rule to handle this particular situation. Secondly, I don't know how you're going to keep that halfling alive.

I'd say that when the reduce spell ends, the affected character "throws up" the halfling and reverts to normal size. You can't make a spell last longer without the use of metamagic feats (or the permanency spell).

"That's twenty bucks, same as in town." But shouldn't the halfling be paying?
