Bummer!

They were lots of fun last year.

Yes, they were. Best sales floor banter EVER! :D

I talked with Brett back when we were contacting publishers for ENnies entries, and he said they would not be able to make it this year, but were considering a day or two to walk around, but not set up. I've got to contact him again and make sure that if they come, they will be there for the ENnies.

Looks like GW is continuing to dig their own grave. I'm glad I decided to give my money to Privateer Press and play Warmachine instead.

Two years ago, I got the biggest blowoff from a GW sales person in their booth. I was looking for minis to use in my D&D game and had 5 or 6 in my hands, and the sales guy came up to me and asked me what army I was playing and what miniatures I was looking for. When I said I didn't play Warhammer but was just looking for individual minis, he rolled his eyes at me and said "When you decide not to waste my time, I'll come back and help you." Needless to say, the minis in my hand ended up in a pile on the floor as I walked away and didn't look back.

Had it been me the minis would have hit him in the head. One. Package. At. A. Time. And while I was throwing them I would have said "NOW. I'm. Wasting. Your. Time."
Then I would have said "What? You think this stuff is crack?" Then I would have left.

These stories about the hate of GW employees for roleplayers are legion. I'm just curious what brought them to re-publish WFRP and whether this has any influence on their policy regarding their roleplaying clientele.

Well, hey, maybe they are trying to show us lowly roleplayers gaming done right, or some such other puffed-chest balonie. Of course, they tabbed one of the better d20 guys (Pramas) to handle it. Irony.

I've also encountered the snottiness at the GW store in nashville, tn. What a bunch of bozos. In my experience, it isn't just the company either. There are some notorious Warhammer bigots/harassers here in town who like nothing better than to put down other games that people play.

I have been happily snatching up the GW black orcs, skavens, skinks, and ungors on clearance at my LGS, however.

Ghostwind, is MEG having any kind of presence there this year?

Does MEG even still have a heartbeat? Doug won't even answer my emails anymore. There is a certain book I wrote that is about to come back to me to do with as I wish because of it...

Which is why we welcome gamers into the store where I work with open arms and show them that GW stuff and roleplaying do in fact go together and that it is okay to play D&D and Warhammer.

I can hardly imagine that Reaper won't be there. Can anyone confirm this?

Reaper wasn't there last year either. They were in transition moving to a new space and didn't get paperwork in on time (something like that, Ron was around, but no booth). Maybe they couldn't get the space they wanted or something.

I know that several companies last year were not happy with the space size and/or placement they had last year. I also know that some prices went up (or prices remained the same but space got smaller).

Personally, I am really, really hoping Reaper will be there. The Reaper folks are just plain great.
