Absolute BEST Core PrC

well from a rules standpoint it is possible to do, but I have never seen a paladin with ranks in hide. I even had a NPC paladin spy - but he took ranks in bluff and IG. Sunder is a terrible feat, and really only taken by Ftrs who have the feat to burn.
I haven't considered the possiblities of the CAdv - It may be easier than it used to be.

Improved Sunder is not such a horrible feat. Sundering can be a worthwhile tactical option within the confines of a pitched battle. However, Improved Sunder is a rather nonsensical prerequisite for a class that is meant to portray the unholy warrior archetype. Of course, the Blackguard's sneak attack progression is likewise not very befitting of the class.

Is it possible that there really aren't enough CORE PrCs? Or that the selection of CORE PrCs (Arcane Archer, Arcane Trickster, Archmage, Assassin, Blackguard, Dragon Disciple, Duelist, Dwarven Defender, Eldritch Knight, Hierophant, Horizon Walker, Loremaster, Mystic Theurge,Shadowdancer, and Thaumaturge) don't really span enough options? Or that they aren't all that tempting for other reasons?

Well yes, most of the core PrCs are caster oriented in one respect or another. There almost aren't any pure fighter prestige classes at least if you are human. There is dualist I suppose, but they are sort of the Anti-fighter and a lot easier to get into if you have rogue levels. AA and EK require that you have caster levels. AA & Dwarf Def require that you be a specific race. Drag Dis, which in some ways wouldn't be a half bad class for a fighter type, requires caster levels.

Rogues are a bit better off they get Shadowdancer and Arcane trickster, but again the last requires caster levels.

Horizon Walker is a full-BAB PrC. Ranger focused, but works for Fighters with a level or two in Ranger, Bard, or some such.

Dragon Disciple is VERY tank-centric, except for the one (flavor) level of Bard or Sorcerer required.

This is probably why they keep coming out with PrC's in other supplements. There were only so many PrC's they could fit in the DMG without you, the consumer, paying more. As books need to be printed in 16 page intervals, adding another 16 pages of PrC's to the DMG to add more core PrC's seems kind of silly to me.

Besides....if you can hold back on PrC's and put them out in other supplements, people will continue to buy product. If you give them everything they want in the first 3 broducts, why do they need to buy future products?

This is why I would have thought that the ones chosen for the DMG, at least for the 3.5 version, would have been more generic (for lack of a better word) and might have allowed for at least one solid PrC for each CORE Class.
