I have some experience with PCgen, had some problems with it in the past (and a lot of frustration with the datasets), will try it again.
What version did you last use? What were your issues?

Performance is one, but i've heard that it has improved, add to that the fact that i have a better machine these days. Frustration with datasets was when the user created nonOGL sets were phased out and the new version didn't work with the old sets (the conversion tools available were not all that great and the amount of manual work required wasn't funny). As you might notice, i haven't use it for a while ;-) It's been a while since i needed an app to track my characters progress. For DM use i used RolePlayingMaster for high level play...

[edit]
Speaking of RPM, after typing it i just had to take a look if it was still around, and it is! So installed it and i'll check it out a bit later (as it has changed a lot since the last time i used it...
