Acquisitions, Inc. Returns

Celebrity D&D game Acquisitions, Inc., has become something of a fixture at PAX Prime. It's back again this year, complete with Chris Perkins as the Dungeon Master, on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 8:30 (Pacific) in the Main Theater at PAX Prime 2015. You'll be able to watch it live via Twitch, but for now - here's the trailer!

Side question. Does anyone know where I can get a list of the AI videos in order?

On youtube, there are a couple users who put them all in one place. Blackfooot Ferret and Vital Blurs are 2 I have watched. Vital Blurs has them listed as "Seasons" and includes the early podcasts. Some of the "Seasons" are not AI though (They include some side stuff they did, like a Dark Sun adventure).

Live streaming is becoming a thing now, even Wizards has done an article on how to start your own. I also hear they are doing a panel at Pax on starting a livestream game. That said, my favorite Twitch livestreat is unquestionably Critical Role, AI and Titansgrave has nothing on this show and Matt Mercer is really teaching me some great tips on evoking NPCs and the use of voice acting. Plus I got to meet them at Comic Con:View attachment 69758

Uggh. I find Acquisitions, Inc. to be painful to watch. It's not funny. It's not entertaining. It's like bad, dull combination of improv and D&D.

Critical Role is great. It doesn't hurt that they an adorable group of women gaming. Laura Bailey/Vex's love of Trinket the Bear is one of those things you don't see much amongst male gamers. Most of the male gamers I've played with consider their animal a tool for killing rather than a pet to be kept alive at all costs.

They are all excellent role-players. Scanlon makes me laugh the most. His improvised, bardic songs based on pop hits are amusing.

Matt Mercer is a great DM. Keeps everything moving. He is very open to improvising. He makes the role-playing fun. I'd love to play at his table.

Chris Perkins is a good DM. Wheaton can be funny. It's painfully obvious the other guys aren't very good at role-playing on a stage.

I agree. AI is good fun, its stage production/celebrity D&D, not what I would call an actual game with characters that care about consequences. One reason I gravitate more to Critical Role and Titansgrave is that the players have investment in their character, and their approach to D&D is not Gonzo fun ™. I agree that Matt Mercer should be featured more by Wizards as an example of a great DM. Chris is a great DM, just wished I could see him DM an actual campaign to show us more of his DM skills.
